ParticipantI am in the process of adding karting events to the calendar.
It is open for all registered users to post events, so if you have something karting related that should be there, please post the info. Be sure to include contact info. If you have trouble, let me know.
I will keep watch over it, and you can help with that, too, just to be sure it does not get out of hand. If you see something that is questionable, please let me know. Thanks! :coffee Angie

InactiveB,
Ya I have to agree with you, but it was a chance to market Colorado Karting big time and the majority thought we should support it as a CSC race.
GJ to the East slope is a drive and costly. You do have two drops to use, so that should help.
I am considering cutting back also because of the escalating costs and unemployment. Registration costs for different associations and club fees is like my 2nd or 3rd highest cost every year. I just may go with one series.

ParticipantWhat a joke. I’ll bet you 98% of the G.J. racers will not be able to compete in the CSC because of travling. Do realize that thay will have to travle OVER 3,500 miles. Call it the eastern slope sprint championship not the colorado championship. Atleast Steamboat was about half. Now Greely a points race instead of Steamboat. I dont beleive that the uper management is looking at this very fairly at all. :bs:

ParticipantI too think 9 races is a bit too much.
January 27, 2006 at 11:07 pm #52566Angie MacEwen
ParticipantSo guys, what would you suggest? What would the “ideal” series be for you?
Steamboat was not willing to work on the existing lot, although they will have a new place for us to set up in a couple of years. In the meantime, Greeley is prepared to give us ALOT of support. With the new track in the state being on this side of the hill, too, I can see where it would be a strain on the racer living on the Western Slope. That is all stating the obvious, yet not giving any solution.
ideas??

Participant9 races are better than no races at all………………I hear people complain about travel, track time you name it, but the same people will spend 2 or 3 days testing before a race. Angie, Brad, JB,Jim, the Cooks do the best they can to accomodate everyone so lighten up and be glad you have a chance to race!
We may not be able to race every race but were going to try and not bitch about it

ParticipantI think 9 races are too many, especially for the western Colorado guys. It seemed to me that the number of entries tailed off a bit at the end of last season with only 7 races. I’d prefer 1 race at each track – 5 races total with no drops. I think that would lead to bigger CSC fields and still leave resources and time available to race other races.

9 sets of MG yellows at “suggested” price of $180.00= $1620
9 Entry fees of $65 +membership = $685
$2300 to go race this year not including any other fees, travel, gas…..or spare tires to practice on. So about $3000.
Racing ain’t cheap.
But, if you did 5 Stars races, you’d think that was peanuts 😀
I bet the spec racer 125 class will be at least $1300 a race w/travel.So if you wanted to race the CSC and all of the Stars dates…..
10,000 dollars 😯
That’s if you have a free go-kart.
And don’t break anything.
:loony: A young guy who would want to race the very talented CSC field as well as the best nationally needs AT LEAST 15 grand cash money to play. This isn’t a sport for the regular people anymore.
And you don’t get to recoup those funds like a kid restoring a 65 Mustang.
Hell, you could build a 500hp Rx-7 for that kind of money.January 28, 2006 at 2:59 am #52570Taylor Broekemeier
ParticipantI’m running Stars this year and was thinking about the CSC as well, but with 9 races, I don’t know if I can handle that. I want to do the national scene and do it RIGHT, but 9 CSC races is pushing it. Add to that SuperNats, RIGP and the Winter series that I’m runnin now, holy smokes….that’s 22 races this year for me!
I vote for 5 CSC races! One race at each track plus Greeley, no drops. You’ll get bigger and more competitive fields in each class. More competition leads to better racing and gives spectators a real show, not a 6 or 8 kart field, boring! With 5 races, you almost cut expenses in half for everyone.
