George Durdin
ParticipantJB,
I suggested a home and away series between GJ, IMI and CRE to Stacey Cook and Brad Linkus along with Grady Clay while you were still just a kart shop owner and not a “Big Time” race promoter ; although you’ve only promoted and directed one season of racing at Bandimere’s rental track. I’ve always advocated an in state series tnat was SANCTIONED by a real national governing body and that is something that just isn’t going to happen as long as Brad is pulling the strings of Denver kart racing ; you know that as well as I do.
You operate a kart shop and want to sell and service karts but outside of the income generated by two CSC races you have no interest in promoting and directing races at Bandimere’s facility. It’s unfortunate, but the Bandimere facility is in need of a serious facelift ; you know it and so do most of the racers. The fact still remains that even if you built a new track at Bandimere it would not change the one horse nature of the CSC that has become a big city championship.
My apologizes if my observations are irratating but painfully true. It’s all pretty good for the Denver area racers but out of balance for those of us around the state.January 29, 2006 at 3:47 pm #52588J.B. Olmstead

InactiveWe moved to the western slope in the middle of the year last and finished out the year traveling more than planned and decided to only run CS this year but with the schedule as it is we will run the club races at GJ and also run in Utah. All the controversey, lodging expences and traveling are not worth it! Bottom line is that it’s not worth the aggravation for our 6 year old!

InactiveIf your mainstay of racing is outside CO. (Stars, RIGP, etc.etc) and CSC is 3rd or 4th on your list of priorities, I don’t see how you can expect changes in the schedule to accomidate YOU!
The schedule looks great for those concentrating their racing in CO. I don’t want to do less just because some of you want to race someplace else instead. If you can only do 5 events, we’ll see you at those 5. I want the other 4, too.
If no-one shows up, that will tell the track owners/promoters what to do for next year.

InactiveWe don’t want to run any where else but Colorado but with the schedule as it is we would have to travel and lodge 7 out of the 9 races which gets expensive! Why would you want to run 5 of 9 races, what’s the point?

ParticipantThe dollars needed to run a nine race season are large no doubt. I can’t offer any help in the traveling expenses or tires or race fees. I do think that we can do something in the other areas. The housing costs can be reduce by special rates as in Grand Junction (good job Stacy) We could set up host houses, I can take a couple racers in for a night or two. I am sure that other local racers in each town can do the same. A dinner-breakfast at one restaurant could be set up or at the track the night before or breakfast would cut meal costs. We can truck or car pool to out of town events. We have so many sharpe minds in our sport lets look outside the envelope and create some solutions. The problem with these offers is that you might meet some nice people and have to talk Karting till the wee hours. :sun:

ParticipantI have room at my house for a few people also… I to think that 9 races is to much but if that is what the racers want then lets go….. I know Brad has room for 20 to 30 people at his house 😀

ParticipantI’ve got a finished basement with a complete bathroom (showers only, no baths) if someone wants a place to stay 17 miles away from IMI…
Get some beers and we’ll call it even…

ParticipantMike,
Does your sister live with you?On another note:
We also have plenty of room for any of the GJ racers wanting to save some bucks.
Great idea Craig.
