The membership form says that by signing you agree that you WILL know, and abide by, the rules. If you want to wait until you have rules in hand, that is understandable.

As for the meeting…. It is somewhat of a tradition – we didn’t always have the internet to make announcements. Brad has had an annual meeting for IMI, before the CSC was around. The track owners agreed in the very beginning to use the meeting to announce the whole CSC idea to the karters. If you have a concern about something in particular, it helps to bring it up at the meeting. The rules will be discussed, the classes will be discussed, the schedules will be discussed, questions will be answered – but whether any monumental decisions will be made at the meeting is really unknown. If we truly want an accurate membership vote on anything, it would need to be done by mail, or at the races.

So, I am curious, what are people expecting from “The Meeting”?

We won’t know what the numbers are for any class until folks get their membership forms in
    (available at http://www.coloradosprintchampionship.com/forms.htm ).
I can start posting a list, like last year, of who has signed up for which class(es).

Some classes can run together, and there will be a minimum number required to make a class – especially a class that requires its own track time. Those numbers have not been decided yet.

We have to be careful in eliminating a junior class that is a stepping stone – meaning, the kid karters have to have somewhere to move up to, and right now the only real choice for them is the K80 or Animal. A jump from Kid Karts to either the Novice 80 or MiniMax would be a bit much.

I think we are only on one Stars East date.. the best that could be done after working around everything.

More series information will be available soon!!

    Thanks!

    Greg,
Don’t get bent out of shape. Maybe I didn’t pick my wording quite right – I am sorry – please don’t take it so personal. I was only trying to say that it is not a CSC event, and those decisions will come seperately and later. The event PLANNING is barely off the ground and already there is turmoil. How about jumping in, say you do want to participate, and better yet, help make it happen! And I am not in charge of it, so maybe I shouldn’t have said anything! 😳

So, Greg, would you like to race at the Greeley Grand Prix? Anyone else?

    Don,

There are no MAJOR changes to the class structure. There is some revamping in the 125 shifter classes, but other than that, no changes.
No junior classes added or dropped. The main reason the classes are not listed yet, is that then everyone asks for the rules. Those are not changing much from last year either, but are not ready to be published. I didn’t mean it to sound so Top Secret.

As for what is run at Greeley, that is yet to be decided. I would imagine the CSC classes, and if enough are interested, maybe the 4 stroke classes.

As for The Track, Jim can answer that question. The tracks that have participated in the CSC have always agreed to run the same classes with the same rules as the CSC. The number needed to have a class run on any given day, or any extra classes that may be run, is all up to the track owners.

    Doug,

The decision was made to NOT work around Stars events this year.

As for the Black Rock Summer Shootout – I was informed that our June date will not conflict with that.

    Brian,
There will be black and white rules, and tech to make sure everyone follows them!

The CSC will be using this supplied motor program for 2006. There will, of course, still be some “rules” and procedures which will be spelled out and put on the CSC web site. No voting. It is already decided! Thanks for the feedback, though, and we look forward to having a fun season!

Greeley is still in the works for Memorial Day, but NOT a CSC event. It does have the blessing of the track owners, and if it comes together, I hope you all will attend!

That means the July TBA date will probably be the Steamboat date IF it can be pulled off.

Don, Is there any particular class that you were hoping to see on the list?

Any other Kid Kart parents have an opinion on this?

I didn?t say this was our only option. I said ?Given the choice?.. I think this is the way to go.?

Tech did do its job last year, and kids were DQed. We shouldn?t have to DQ kids.

Quoting from the 05 CSC Kid Kart rules?
?Class Purpose: The Kid Kart class is an entry level racing environment which primary purpose is to offer a safe, fun, and educational experience for its participants. This class serves as an opportunity to train and teach beginning drivers, and their parents, about proper event procedures, safety rules, racing etiquette, driving skills and sportsmanship.?

You said it ?at the end of the day these are kids.”

The ?fun? was draining fast for all involved. ?. KK parents were causing more headaches for tech and officials than any other class. The class became divided, the rumors were flying, and it wasn?t fair to anyone ? kids, parents, officials. This should allow the kids and parents to go back to having fun at the track, and put the focus back where it should be

The ?kill your kid class? you refer to was one of the classes offered at IMI. That decision is up to Brad, but I believe that he is doing the supplied motors for his races, too.

Any kids that are doing national level events should find that racing the CSC, with equal spec motors, should be great preparation. What better way for them to hone their driving skills, and for dad to hone his chassis set up skills?

It is good that George is going to have a junior program at CRE this year. I hope you and your kids have fun wherever you decide to race. We will be posting 2006 schedules and details on all the tracks? and CSC?s programs as they become available. The official CSC schedule and class rules will be posted at http://www.coloradosprintchampionship.com soon.
