the “leaders” or “powers that be” may be taking a brief break, but now would be a great time for the racers to put in their 2 cents.

I planned, started, but never finished creating, a survey for the racers. I think I will still do that, and send it out. So, what questions should I ask you guys and gals? What are the important things that the track owners need to hear before making any decisions?

I know that much will be discussed here, on the forum, but I would like to send something out and give everyone a chance to respond.

Jed, now you went and made me feel bad. I was getting there. I could not have done this year end banquet without some help. Especially Tammy Jacobellis! She saved the day before banquet day ever arrived! The trophy folks called me, while I was scoring practice day at the SuperNats, and told me the trophies I picked wouldn’t work as they did not have enough in the right sizes! By this point, I was worried. I called Tammy (who was already working hard on our clever centerpieces) and asked her to help out with the awards. She took it on, without question, and I can’t thank her enough. She also was the one that made the initial contact with the Merchandise Mart, so she deseves the credit for finding this great place that everyone loved so much! She, Jay and the boys were there before me to start getting ready on banquet day, too!!
Thank You Tammy! Thank You to the Jacobellis Family!!

Also, thank you to Liz Schermerhorn for helping Ken unpack and arrange the CSC cups!! She probably had nightmares of trying to vacuum styrofoam peanuts off of people’s pants! I really love the special throw that you did for me…. ok, us… too! You are a very special family, Thank You!

I have to thank my mom, her husband Art, and my grandma (Nanny), too! If they did not come along to the races, there is no way I could do what I do for the series. They do a little of everything on race days (the biggest is putting up with Ken!)

I have many other thanks ( and I am sure I will forget someone)… Brad, Stacey, JB and Ann-Louise, Jim, Rusty, Dennis, Drew, the racers, and many other individuals who made this year a success!

Don, thank you for taking over setting up the slide show – and thank you to all that provided pictures, too.

Rich – How Drew got “Gaseous Emissions Award” from your self nomination for the “Old Fart Award” I am not sure. I thought your comment written in the Other space was worth mentioning. Sorry it got lost in translation!

Congratulations on a great season! It was always a pleasure to see you at the track. Looking forward to next year – there is much discussion to be done to figure out what is going on for the CSC next year. I will keep the racers up to date with what is going on!

    Thank you all!

The SuperNats was definitely an experience! We got home last night after a long road trip home — the southern route. Dry roads the whole way, just lots (and lots) of miles.

We are very proud of Cole!

It was sad to see all of the other Colorado racers getting hit with such bad luck. Thank you to everyone that helped us out getting to, and making it through, this event!

    see you soon,
    Angie

    Taken from the SKUSA website…….

SuperNationals IX will offer a fast competitive track for drivers in this year?s race. The Alan Rudolph designed track will feature 11 turns on the 30-foot wide racing surface. Mid-50 second laps or better is expected in the SuperPro class around the ? mile long circuit.

The track was designed to have up to five potential passing zones. Rudolph was insistent on designing a track that gives everyone opportunities to race each other. Another critical feature of this temporary circuit is the straightaway length. ?The Strip? will offer karters an 800-foot long backstretch. Everyone will get the most out of their engines shooting down the backside of the course and on the other straights.

The corners are a combination of different degrees. All eleven corners have their own unique approach which will give drivers many unique challenges as they hammer the course looking for a SuperNationals win to put on their resume. Although the parking lot of Sam Boyd Stadium is mainly flat, certain areas of the track traverse through a smooth rise and fall of the asphalt.

Recently the Superkarts! USA staff traveled to Sam Boyd to make sure the track design would deliver great racing on the smoothest possible portion of the track. Superkarts! USA CEO and avid karter Joe Janowski took the wheel after Alan Rudolph finalized the design, and started cutting laps around the circuit. ?It was important to us that we make sure this was the design we wanted before we put it out to the world, and doing all of this does take time. All of us feel that this will deliver some awesome racing, and will be much easier to manage than last years course. Alan did an awesome job designing a track that will reward set up and driving ability that favors no particular engine formula. We anticipate that this will be the official SuperNationals course for years to come? states Janowski.

Spectators and crew will be able to view the action of the event from the grassy area adjacent the stadium. For those wanting a Birdseye-view of all the on-track action, the stadium will be open for viewing from the backside.

I have gotten a few of these by email, and that works fine. Just copy and paste the info into an emai, or attach the documents!

    Thanks

ps. Yes, Dan, it should be a great time, it always is.
We will have lots of room ( 😳 unlike last year).

I hope you mean it the other way around, or that sounds pretty bad. Mom’s help comes the other days of the week, on race days, it is all dad- with some help from grandma and grandpa, too.
