ParticipantThanks Mike,
It’s a crime that the Senna movie won’t come here. I guess they figure that because he didn’t drive cars with fenders and big push rod V8s, on ovals, no one would care here.
What a master he was. Not just a driver, but he knew the mechanics of the cars he drove too. He knew how to take care of his equipment.
I still miss him.Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantI’ve bought a batch to two from Comet Kart. They have held up quite well. http://www.cometkartsales.com

ParticipantAnthony, I have a TAG set up ready to go! 2007 KGB chassis with front brakes (which you CAN run at the PPKRC). I Ran TAG masters with this one. Fresh PDR engine, spares, lots of gears, XL Tillet seat, Mycron 4 gauge, updated battery, I’ll even through in the transponder (required to race) and 4 gallons of race fuel. $1900 takes it all. I’m not quitting racing, just taking a year off to nurse and pay for knee surgery. I’m in the south Denver area. It’s a GREAT kart to start out with.

ParticipantOr start the newbies in the back, until they have a determined number of starts.
Some of the best racing I ever saw was back in the old days, at Lakeside, watching a trophy dash with the “Mighty Midgets”. They always took the 4 fastest qualified cars (sometimes 6), inverted the start, and raced for 4 laps. Great Stuff!

ParticipantI think Doug’s idea is great. I’ll bet the PPKRC would consider something like that. Those of us who hang around in the back of the pack would have someone to race with for a few laps.

Actually it is an x-ray of Terrys knee. Just kiddin Terry, hope your doing O.K. hopefully see you at PPKRC in Oct.
Gunter,
How did you guess? That’s what my knee feels like. Surgery is on Thursday… Yes, it’s a mess. I’ll be OK. I won’t be able to make the race at PPIR in Oct. I’ll be out of town. Thanks for the good wishes.

ParticipantLooks more like my last Briggs Modified motor.

ParticipantI have to agree. One of the best facicities I have been to for a kart race. I was well taken care of during my “incident”, when I dislocated my knee, while pushing my kart out of the way. Two corner workers per corner… WOW. They made sure I and the guys on the track were safe.
My knee is pretty messed up. I hope to see the specialist today.

ParticipantI’ll be there. We paid for our camp site and everything. Never camped at a race track, this should be interesting. try not to lap me too many times, Scott. I’m pedaling my PRD as fast as I can. 🙂

ParticipantI like the elevation changes. Looks like good places to pass going in to turn one and turn twelve. Interesting they are going to go “anti clockwise”.

ParticipantAmen to that brother.
AJ and Mario could and DID win in everything they sat in. THAT is the talent and skill I only dreamed of having.
No disrespect for Mr. Earnhart, but how can someone who has been dead almost 10 years be on a Wheates box?
Unfortunately, when AJ, Mario and Dan Gurney pass away, It will be on the last page of the sports section. Probably not even mentioned on the TV news. These guys are racing gods and so few will know.I would have loved to see Parnelli Jones blow Dale’s doors off. PJ the original intimidator!

ParticipantNot to “Diss” anyone.
When I was a boy, our dream was a ride at Indianapolis or… if one was very special, Formula One.
How money (and marketing) has changed things.I’m sad to say many kids may not even know an IndyCar or an F1 car if it was sitting in front of them.
Still, it’s great to see those racing dreams are still out there. If your dream is a racecar with or without a roof.

ParticipantChris,
I really don’t know how you do it. I’m amazed how you keep up. You deserve a big hand too! :bow
