ParticipantIf anyone would have parts it would be Kirk Deason. You can reach him on this board.

ParticipantRight back at you Mike. I had a blast running TAG this year. Can’t wait for it to warm up and get everything running again.

ParticipantTroy,
As an insurance adjuster, I have agree with you. Pearl Auto body is tops. There are other shops along US 285 and in the Conifer/Evergreen area. Lets just say, I wouldn’t have my kids red wagon fixed at them. Pearl, however if great!

ParticipantI assume you are running gas, not methanol. You can try to put duct tape (racer’s tape 😉 ) over the holes on the flywheel cover. The flywheel has fins that help cool the engine the block. Your cylinder head temp may be in the high 300s but the block may be too cool.
If your running methanol, you might have to come back on warmer day.

ParticipantHere is another picture taken before any of us was born. This is my Dad in the seat of his Kurtis Kraft Offy at Lakeside in 1947.
Not exactly what you would call a “Snell” approved helmet. One more note about my Dad. He was the only one who could build an “Offy” that coud compete with the Secos and VWs, in the 70’s. He was pretty proud of that. (Me too!). Not sure what he could have done with my PRD 🙂

ParticipantJoe,
Check with Bobby or Brad at IMI. They have a lot of stuff like that. I’m sure they have a used wheel in one of their bins or in the shop.

ParticipantJust remember, Tony. 2000 budget surplus. 2008 budget in the hole over $1 trillion… thanks George.
Those are W’s taxes your paying.Anyway I vote for “uphill”. Less carnage going into the first turn.
Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantThe plan… Tag Masters in the “Mile High Challenge”. Depending how the tax returns come out etc.
The back up plan. Open Class in the “Mile High Challenge”.
Maybe a race or two at IMI’s club series. (Masters or Open… see above)

ParticipantI too am interested in the best choice for me as well. I like the Leopard for the easy carb. adjustments. I like the Rotax for the durability, Angel, you talked to me about the fact that the Rotax last twice as long on a rebuild vs the Leopard. I just worry about learning how to tune the Rotax. Seems pretty complex vs just turning a mixture screw in or out (like on a Leopard). So tell me, how tough is it to set those Rotax up?

ParticipantJim,
I looked at the TaG USA rules for 2009. If I read it right, it looks like the Easykart 125 is not included. Will this be the case next year for your club series?
I haven’t made a move to choose a package for myself for next year, yet. The Easykart was one of my options. I just need to make sure before I plop down any money. Thanks
Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantCheck with IMI. Brad either has the ones that will fit your kart or he can get them. Also… The side pods should have some sort of marking, or brand name on them. Do an internet search for that brand name and you sould see who can ship them to you directly. Most kart shops in town will find them for you too. Billett etc.
One more note… they rarely fit perfect. So be ready to modify them, just a little, to get a good fit.
Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantYes, that we me with red Kart. Although it’s powered by Methenol, not methane. THAT would be interesting. Good luck getting started. With some “seat time” you will be up and running in no time. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Everyone in the karting community is willing to help, I’ve found.
If you want to se the trailer, just send me an e-mail.Terry

ParticipantI will be sure that my wife does not see that. 😯 I had a feeling that someone would make a comment like that. Since I did not word that very well.
I think you may have already seen this trailer. If you are the Sheldon I met in October at the Fun Race at The Track. I pitted next to Craig Neff. (the guy with the RV and the shifter kart).Any way let me know.
Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantSheldon,
I have a HF trailer that has the 8″ wheels.. I drove it on I-25 65 MPH all last season. It did fine, no surprises.
By the way… It’s for sale. ($200). I bought a full sized truck over the winter to pull the wife and kid’s horses. So I no longer need the trailer. My Toyota pulled it just fine.Terry Von Tilius
ParticipantI agree,
Before we commit to buying tires, spare parts, etc, it would be good to know the rules. I don’t even know if my class will be included in the club races this year. (Briggs)… If not that’s cool, I just need to know if I’m racing or just “test/tuning”.
We do have the schedule. Much better spacing between races than last year! But we are only a month away from the season starting. We just need some more info.
Thanks
