I just wanted to thank all of the people who helped making round two possible. You all showed again how much fun kart racing can be.
On a personal I’d like to thank a few people who helped keep my sons on the track.

June 21, 2010 at 3:43 pm #63996Kirk DeasonParticipantMan, I am sore and sunburned; lifting an S5 kart with 60 lbs of lead on it was like a power lift each time–i began to dread going to the grid and scales everytime. We had some bad luck with the motor(s) and carb but, like golf, it’s that one good shot per day that keeps us coming back looking for more each time. Thanks again to Mr. Rudolph, a true sportsman, for loaning the Wogrin Family a spare motor to allow us to compete. Everybody in our pits learned a ton and got faster and faster as the weekend wore on.
I want to thank Brad for the use of the rentals and Curt Kistler for organizing the Tuner Challenge race, that was really cool and I was excited to participate. (Results?) I almost felt like a real racer for a few minutes. I hope that the tuner challenge will continue at future races.

I really don’t know how you do it. I’m amazed how you keep up. You deserve a big hand too! :bow
June 21, 2010 at 8:07 pm #63998Tony LaPortaParticipantChris,
Great points on how SKUSA racing is thriving here in Colorado, due to the great people involved from the SKUSA MR team-to the racers in the pits. Thanks once again to you and your family for your continuing support of SKUSA.
Having the best seat in the house up in the scoring tower gave me a great view of the flat out awesome racing on sunday.
Biggest field of S5 drivers in the state, and parts of the country provided great racing. Cole, Christian, and Austin were fun to watch all day sunday.TaG Sr: All I can say after those 2 heats and the main is WOW. Sabre and SKUSA newcomer Rory Mackey put on a flat out show in all of their races. Sabre edging out Mackey by 2 100ths of a second at the line in the first heat, Rory coming back to win heat #2, and then the INSANE main event. What must have been over 10 passes for the lead in the main in the first 10 laps!
And then the S2 S4 and G1 race. Matt Kistler, what a stud. 2 years out of the game, comes back to smoke everyone. Jet Davis, my friend doing work in S4 to win in his class, and Dave Conyers the winner in G1.
Over all great racing, great fun and even better people.
Im just grateful that AJ, Cris, and Curt let me be a part of such a great program.

Curt Kistler did the calculations. I know Alan Rudolph still won, and Curt came in third, but can’t recall who second was. Maybe Curt will share the results with us here! Thanks to all who were there. It was a great event.
June 22, 2010 at 1:35 am #64000Ron RudolphParticipantThis event was almost like going back in time….( Lets see? 15 plus years) during the day I noticed Families smiling, laughing, working together and even when things were not going as planned( Mechnical issues :bang). The Colorado karting community had an event that had Fathers and their families spending Fathers day in the best way possible. The end result was Quailty Time spent with family, friends and what we Love to do with our spare time and money? :money :win More fun then Golf and bowling in my book. :jump
Chris and Kirk, in regards to the spare motor, anything to get a fellow competitor back in the race…… Besides Watching Ryan and Conner battle Nascar style was a great way for them to prep for close racing in the months to come….. The S5 Class is getting better as the season goes on. :win
Would it be great to see all of the Karts in storage come out and play at all the series that are being run in our blessed state.
Ok ,Rodney – My turn to dream :locoSpecial Thanks to:
AJ Noud for helping on Ryans chassis setup, Brad for rebuilding a super fast Stock Honda
Cory Milne for his advise and assistance :peaceJune 22, 2010 at 2:20 am #64001Curt KistlerParticipant@Angie MacEwen wrote:

Angie,
The official scoring after the scientific math was: Alan “do you race?” Roudolf 1st place, Dale “just call me Kistler” Collins 2nd place, and Curt “the math wizzard” Kistler in 3rd place. Tony has the official lap results, or had the official lap results prior to the awsome beer and pizza sponsored party on Saturday evening. It was governed by adding .500 seconds for every 15 pounds above the lighest driver. The top 3 winners were within .200 from top to bottom. The rentals ran great, and the track was challenging. The post tuner race activities are what karting is all about. Great people have maximum fun.First weekend in 13 years where 3 different Kistlers had podiums :win We will take it anyway we can.
Tony, you have found your niche. After calling a Legends Race at PPIR Friday night, and calling our race all weekend, your voice still rocked on Sunday afternoon until the final trophy was handed out. All I have heard from those who have heard you calling the races is “you are awesome”. So please do not forget who first handed you a mic and told you to get out of my hair. I expect to be hearing your voice calling races at high levels for a long time. Do not give it up, you rock!
To all the competitors who showed up on Fathers Day, THANK YOU! We are trying our best to host great karting events and have had our challenges, but we are not going away. We still have a Border War in GJ, and a Regions Cup on a temp “Vegas Layout” to host after the Summernationals. So please come out and join in the fun. See if your TAG and Shifter program can compete with the SKUSA drivers. The trophies are worth the price of admission.(If you can win one) :stir
June 25, 2010 at 5:56 am #64002Jon RomeneskoParticipantWell what can I say that hasn’t been said already? AWESOME weekend with SKUSA at IMI. Personally, it was one of the roughest race weekends i’ve had in years ( :bang ), but it was still a blast and the entire SKUSA staff puts on a great show. Lots of track time and very tough competition seem to be emerging themes in the SKUSA Mountain Region. The pace at the front of the S2/S3/S4/G1 field was insane…Matt Kistler was untouchable all weekend. The TaG senior main (heat races too) was one of the best races for the lead that i’ve seen in a long while. Must’ve seen 3 lead changes in one lap…for practically the whole race!
Folks, even if you come out to watch it’s worth it because our announcer, Mr LaPorta, does one heck of a job. But I would come race with us if i were you, because this has been some of the most fun i’ve had in my years in karting.
And how about that tuner race? It was pretty cool to see the legend, Alan Rudolph, bombing around IMI in rental karts. I think i might have seen him dozing off on the back straight!
I have to give a HUGE thanks out to Cris Schurman for loaning me his backup engine after mine decided it wanted to make less power than the S5 karts!
AJ Noud and the entire Kartworks crew for their great (as usual) track side support.
The whole IMI staff.
And all my fellow racers for coming out to support this growing series, and making the racing fun! When is round 3? Seems to far away…cant wait. :~
Oh, and finally; Sam, Curt, AJ, Cris, Angie, Tony, and the whole SKUSA MR staff…keep doing what you’re doing, because it’s been great so far!
June 25, 2010 at 5:57 am #64003Jon RomeneskoParticipantOh, and Curt…
Thanks for the push. Twice. 😆 😳
June 25, 2010 at 2:59 pm #64004Kirk DeasonParticipantI will be practicing for the next tuner race. I’m showing up 4 days ahead of time with my giant racer rental motorhome and my rental race trailer full of rental tires. If may have to get all Tonya Harding on Curt Kistler if he doesn’t adjust his math/weight/correction factor.. This is serial bidness!
OK, truthfully, I was embarrassed by how badly some random dude named Rudolph beat me. 3 sec per lap is just ridiculous. I can’t blame the equipment. I am hanging my head in shame. :puke
