in the day and age of video phones and skype you can be there. Just not in person.

You can be way off on jetting and not hurt the motor.
Trust me, you’ll love not having to deal with that ridiculous bicycle chain that Tags run.

I finally found out about the panther chains (If you run TaG there isn’t any other chain you should use in my opinion) and not once had a problem since using them.

As for the jetting, the Motori has a much bigger sweet spot than any motor I’ve used (unless you’re Gunther and you’re trying to intentionally lean it out to get that extra .05 a lap 8) and then the spectacular KABLAMMO)

I’m really leaning towards banging gears but again, I LOVE the bigger local fields here in the TaG class and that’s the million dollar question, ARE WE GOING HAVE BIG FIELDS HERE IN SPEC HEAVY?

Hey don’t get me wrong about TaG Masters, it’s been a heck of a ride. I’m just wondering is the time ripe to make the switch…

    G,

With the proverbial milk spilt I’ll tell you this: Butcher paper works well, I’ve made 6 of them as back ups.

Or, you could have emailed me and asked if I have any spares (i have several in various different thicknesses)

Gunther, why are you using RV as a gasket when you should be using a paper gasket.

    Just asking…

Thanks, and I’m sorry to hear about your Father. I thoroughly respect his service and your way of remembering him.

My suggestion would certainly have to be approved by the families involved. Everyone handles these things differently, and some welcome the honor of remembrance. Totally the families’ call, though, and they might well decide based on what their lost family member would want. Just an idea on my part, and one way to turn something bad into something good.

Thanks for the nice words. And you’re spot on. MY FEELINGS and THOUGHTS are just that and asking the families if they’d like that is the correct call. If they want it, great. If they don’t, great. It’s a difficult call and I know everyone means well.

Thanks for the post about safety and other items but I personally, out of respect of the parties involved say NO to a memorial race. People mourn and honour in their own ways. Each and every time we strap on our helmets could be that “last time” and we understand and take that risk. When it’s your time, it’s your time. From a personal point of view my First Father, Eugene Paul Beresik was killed in Vietnam doing what he loved doing, flying an F-105. I personally don’t want nor need a public day to honour his memory. May 31st will always hold a personal and private day to me in my own special way.

Well now that my hands aren’t swollen anymore (I never wrenched as much as I did saturday and into the night) I have to give out a big THANK YOU to the following:

Chris Schureman; your generosity in getting me a beat up spare chassis from your warehouse and giving me something to use to race. It was either that or sitting on the sidelines watching. That will never be forgotten!

Rick Schmidt: telling me the past is just that, drive the Kart in the main and leave Saturday behind me and for locating the ignition wire short. How you identify things I don’t know but I swear you’ve made a deal with the Devil!

Kim Brewer, Marsha Holleran & Chrissy DeSanti: you fed me when I was way over my head wrenching on my broken kart! The food helped immensely!

Louis Velasquez: your generator and light gave me the ability to work into the night and I’d have never gotten ready. Thanks Amigo.

Jeff Field & AJ Noud: fine tuning the kart and getting that extra tenth.

Barry Lewis: Use of a 40mm axle to bend things and a tire machine to make my life easier.

Jim, Carolyn, Chris Egger, Josh, Ian and everyone else responsible for making this race possible!

And finally: The best class ANYONE could ever compete in, TaG Masters. None of us have Formula One, Indy or Nascar aspirations but after we all shake hands, pat each other’s back and the visors go down we race and we race HARD. Crow and Seeseman too. I’ve always said I would quit racing when the racing wasn’t fun and that possibly this would be my last season. After this race, faaaaaat chance!

I want to have anothe friday night BBQ but if it’s going to get any bigger I’m goign to need a bigger grill and additional help. Thanks everyone who participated in friday’s festivities. I missed Sushi with the gang but sure am glad we BBQ’s friday instead of saturday. FRiday BBQ is the new tradition!

Dave I’m glad you’re okay and that your stuff was taken care of when you left. A little duct tape and you’ll be as good as new!

And don’t let Luis send you the dry cleaning bill for his shorts!

    😉

That WAS a kick. Broken frame and all I just thoroughly enjoyed it. From BBQing with all different teams on Friday night to wrenching into the wee hours it was a kick. John Crow kept saying he wants to do it again and catch a couple local races. Kudos to IAN at DANGER CORNER, I not once worried about going through there blind and ALL corner workers did a fantastic job. How many more days till it’s run again?
