i have to agree with curt on the money issue, way to many people are running ICC motors too lean and to many RPM, i for one have seen mostly all the upper and lowerend faliure due to lean conditions, that is even what happend to mine. I even heard some people run there pavesis to 15.5rpm, thats crazy. The new skusa rules are going to keep the cost down on the motos big time with the compression cap, and hopefully over the winter development allows more knowlege about the other motors.
BTW Curt and Matt, good job in steamboat

last year there were 28 tag drivers, most were factory team drivers from JM, KLS, KGB, Biland, Champion/Intrepid, and Arrow. There were a few others but plan on mostly “hired gun” to show up, these drivers were insanely fast and made the local yocal guys like us step it up big time to get into it more. Plan on the big boys from most teams running this class, and plan on mostly the hot shoes from regional racing as well. Like last year, I imagine that the field will be full of 100% capable of winning the race drivers like last year, IMHO everyone in that field could have won that race. I encourage everyone who races a tag to go, you will learn about chassis, and motor tuning to the extreme, as well as driving, and balls out braking at the end of that 1400 foot straghitaway. http://www.kartweb.com/2004/SKUSA/SuperNats/SNTrackPreview.htm
check out the layout, anyone wanting to have a good time in go karting should go to the SN, its worth every penny, and you learn more then you could ever imagine.

As a racer in the same boat as Jim, I can vouich for what he is saying in its entirety. When we first bought our ICC it was at that time a 2003 TM K9 prepped by claudio valiente. We ran it a little rich from time to time and it was really cheap with that in perspective. We got it in january and ran it untill march when we went to Jacksonville. At that moment we changed top ends and ran a weekend in florida. That motor cost us practically nothing untill we started running it as a hand grenade, tuning it for max power, reving the crap out of it, running qualifying reeds, etc etc. And those motors are a bit touchy on the lower end, i lost a rod bearing in steamboat, probably too much time on it but whos to say anyway. The sanctioning bodys can make any motor last if they allow these things to be run relaible and not as time bombs. I look forward to the CSC in 05 when it becomes its own board

Mr. Moore, with all respect, why would you be running aftermarket reed valves in a 60 anyway. It is a stock class, and getting those reeds is very easy and cheap at any bike shop. If you have been DQ twice, then that shows that rules are being fallowed, but not by you.

antifreeze is ileegal, drain your systems, ICC engines will crack in the cylinder if they freeze, leopards will not (been there) but supposedly rotaxes will easilly crack, so for insuarance, everyone drain there water at night. Our cooling system froze last year, it will be 32-33 degrees in the morning there, it will be seize city untill sunrise, so keep it rich as well.

is it possible you have your motor ignition switched off, the ignition switch usually on the front fairing must be pushed in for it to start, if any white paint is seen on the switch, it will not start
