ParticipantAll I seem to have left are the seats I listed, so I assume I sold it. Will re-post if I find it. Sorry…

I would also paint the weight white, can’t remember if that is a RMAX rule or not, but it applies in most forms of karting.
OK, I’ll bite… Is that to make the weight easier to see (look less like asphalt) if it manages to come off of the kart?

ParticipantI’d say I’m encouraged because they’ve already broken ground on the track, but then again look at all the infrastructure US F1 apparently had when they crapped out.
If the race happens, I’ll be there, but until then I’m not holding my breath. 🙁

ParticipantKeith, if you have the discretionary $$$ and are willing to spend some time researching and waiting for an appropriate kart package to come up for sale, I say get a kart and go test & tune with it as much as you can while we have a choice of great tracks to drive on. You can drive rentals until you’re certifiably insane for less money, but it’s not going to be the same kick as a TaG or shifter.
Okay, I haven’t actually had my kart out in 1.5 years because my first loves (wife, 3 kids, and yes, my bicycle) have come first. However, I’ve benefited immensely from just tearing the kart down, rebuilding it, and driving when I can, and I don’t regret the investment for a second. Racing? Maybe someday, but for your situation I’d say you ain’t gonna race if you DON’T have a kart.

ParticipantWow. I’d have thought a trim tab in any setting could be counteracted by the elevator, but I guess it would take superhuman reflexes (and precision) to make the required adjustment when you’re, what? Less than 100 feet off the ground going 500 mph? 😯 I barely have the brainpower to pilot in two dimensions, much less three.
Life is precious. Never take it for granted.

ParticipantGoal: Drive my kart more than ONCE this year. :rant :bang

ParticipantFWIW, I pull a Harbor Freight trailer behind my 2006 Mazda6 wagon. I had to drill some holes in the bottom of the spare tire well. Not sure how the Speed is different in the back, or maybe the bodywork is too low to accommodate a hitch receiver?
