Looking forward to racing this weekend. We should be rolling in Saturday afternoon.
For those looking for a good buy on clean competitive used karts we will have our Arrow team karts on hand for inspection as well.
Hope to see a good turn out!!!!!

As I have suggested privately and publicly at the CSC meeting, I believe a CSC race at CRE would be a good thing for Colorado Karting.
Just my opinion.

Unless I missed something at the meeting, the CSC Council decided that they would run the K-80 and/or the Honda in the Jr 1 class for 07.
I won’t speak for George at CRE. however, as a race team we participated in the World Formula Class at CRE in 06 both in the mens class and powder puff and had a great time with it. They are super engine packages and yes low maintenance. In my opinion, they will make atleast one whole season without rebuild (i.e. rings), obviously determined by how many races and practice session one puts on the engine and level of preventative maintenance. Recommend changing the oil after every race weekend and keep it jetted properly as to not run it lean. You’ll know if it’s not jetted correctly as it will run rough be down on power and plug readings will be off.
I do know that last season, Jim at “The Track” told my boss he would run the W/F at his club races if we had a minimum of 4 karts. Believe that minimum may change to 6 or more for 07 however. Check with the track owners.
Anyone who knows more please chime in. Best of luck Les.

Obviously you are the 4 stroke expert and advocate here. Could you give us the MSRP on the 4 strokes, i.e.
– Biland
– Oral rotary (sp?)
– Vampire
– TKMIs there more??? Additionally, where’s the closest service center/dealer for these engines?? I could not find much info on these engines or on importer/s.

Points well taken.
Suggestions:
1. Run the Animal or Honda or what ever the main players who have Jr 1 drivers want at the club events. This could keep cost manageable for entry level players. Track owners continue to manage their club events based on their customers wants and needs. No one is forced to shelve an engine for 07.
2. Run a Jr 1 class structure in the CSC that resembles a major sanctioning body (let the parents/players decide). The CSC appears to be the next level intra-state series. Most resembles regional and or national events. A series for those who plan to run a limited or full time national tour can hone their skills and play when not on the road.
See you all at the meeting. Yes, keep an open mind, supports a healthy productive process. Good Group Dynamics!!!!
Again, many thanks to Curt and Rusty and those behind the scenes for making this happen.

ParticipantHonda Jr 1 supporters chime in ???? Sanity check, was the feedback scured????

ParticipantPlease know I’m not out to talk down those who love Briggs racing as I have a World Formula on an Arrow for my 14 year old grand daughter to run next year. For the sake of unity, we support what the masses want for the Jr 1 program in Colorado in 2007.
All the Animals we saw run this year, We did not see one that was competetive that we could say was low budget box stock. Quite honestly, a box stock Animal doesn’t do well in any racing series as well.
Additionally the most reliable seem to be built by a knowlegable engine builder and tuner. Point being, if the decission would be to run Animals in the CSC we would go with the flow in our race team and have an Animal.
In our opinion, voices have been heard. That’s a good thing for unity and Colorado Karting. It appears K80’s are the way we should GO!!!

ParticipantI ran Briggs back east for 2 years= competetive Animal $1350.00 new at best. A national level K-80 new $1550.00.
Have run K80’s here in Colorado for 2 years under WKA rules with less maintenance and operational cost than any Briggs we every ran?????
Buy the way I would be willing to build a good K80 (WKA/IKF) legal for less than any Briggs.

The yes or no question is based on the feedback already received, correct? Then I applaud your effort to get the answer to the question that you have asked. There is no point going back to square one to discuss multiple engine packages in my view. PRESS ON!!!!
Spot on George, thanks for your positive input.
