You pick your own number. Check out the results page on this site and you will see what the numbers are that others have already chosen. Two digit numbers are easier to read so I would stick with them.

Yes, you may enter your first race on the 13th at IMI.

The only qualifications is the safety of your kart. If possible, I would do the pre-tech on saturday so as to give you time to correct any problems you may have.

Weights are posted on this site. Your kart should weigh some where around 180 to 200#. Add to that your weight with safety gear and that will give you a rough idea where you are at right now. The scales will be up at IMI in the morning and you will be able to weigh then. Be ready to add weight as required. You can have the seat drilled before you get there and have your wieght and bolts ready to go so it will be a simple operation to add sunday morning. If you ask nicely, I’m sure Bandi or IMI will power up the scales to give you a complimentary weight check. However, it is always wise to double check the scales and you to see if the scales are still where you think they should be.

    Boy am I in trouble.

We usually are in the dirt, we are low in the points, I manage to make a fool of myself all the time and I don’t have a cat.

We were planning on going but that has changed. We lost too many motors in GJ and I will not have them back. Too bad, we were looking forward to it but the costs of running a top ICC are just too much. And I’m a sponsor of it!

    Dennis,

You are spot on what I would like this event ot be. There would be one 125 class, with eveyrone who wants to be there, be there. There would be one tag class, and everyone who wants to race one, they are in it.

I will have a tire rule, NO NEW TIRES. I don’t care how many sets of your old ones you burn up. If you get too far ahead, I hope you have enough sense to bobble the next corner to let the field catch you. If not, we may have to have a full course caution for “debris” on the track! We will get out the pace Go-Ped to slow the field.

This is an exhibition, there are no trophys for first place. It s just a chance to have some fun, play with some friends, look good in the heart of the city with a bunch of people watching. Hey, some of you single guys might even get lucky. Its not this one of the reasons you race karts?

    A bit of news.

The promotors met with the SKUSA folks in GJ to go over some insurance details. What we have in mind is an exhibition event, not part of any series, to show off the sport of karting. They have many activites planed and karting is a part of ther celebration of speed planned during that week.

What we have in mind is to run a series of races, rotating through the day so that everyone gets plenty of track time. There will be participation awards and some money for fast laps. The important thing here is to put on a SHOW. I want to see the guys come across the line 3 wide, nose to tail kind of racing. Keep in mind that what you are trying to do is make it look good and attractive for next year whan they want to do a full blown street race.

I think this coul be a very FUN weeeknd, maybe a no new tire rule, just go play.

i was also wondering if a maranelo with a 4-stroke would be good
    thanks agan :idn:

A Maranello is a CRG based chassis so componets are readly available. If you are thinking of the Biland 4 cycle, it is a dependable engine, so the combination could be very good.

Dave, a caution flag on the first lap is only a local caution and applies only for that area from where the flag was thrown to after the incident that caused the caution flag. A red flag before the first lap is complete will result in a complete restart. A red flag after the first lap is complete (and the completed lap is determined by the position of the leader), is a single file restart based on the running order at the last full lap.

I did not see the incident you refer to but if it was a yellow flag, the race should continue.

In GJ we let a mini max run in junior 1. It is not fast as Ben had a full second on the field and the mini max was well back in the pack. I was teasing Rod that we may have to do a NASCRAP on him by adding weight to bring him back to the rest! They have just flat got their program together.

I was there for a bit as we came through late. I do not want to post the guys name as I know the dad but I can’t remember his name. They lost control on the way up and the trailer whipped around and flipped. The truck did not go over and so everyone in the truck was fine.

We have a Tag junior class that would fit you very well.

The $195 entry fee is for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and includes 4 gallons of fuel and 1 quart of oil. As you know, Saturday and Sunday are seperate race days with complete qualifying, pre-final and final each day. Your tires need to be ordered from Grand Products and they will have them for you in Grand Junction. In fact, they are arriving there today but you didn’t hear that from me! 😆 80 junior will need 2 sets of tires but their entry fee is reduced to the same as TaG and the other amatur classes. Only SP, S1 and SG are at the old price. The only class that is BYOT is the 60/65/80 novice class. Give them a call at Grand and they will gladly take care of you 215-244-1940

I believe the late fee is gone but you should let SKUSA know you are coming, get your pit spot reserved and your entry in. It makes registration go much quicker if you have it done already.

Greg and I are heading over after school on Friday. As it is slow pulling our trailer over the two hills, it will take us close to 5 hours to make the run. This event will be the biggest in Colorado so far.
