ParticipantAbout cheating, I can only speak to the classes we ran in. I know how my karts were set-up, we ran to SKUSA rules for the boys respective class, right down ot the tires. My reasons for doing that were simple. It made it easy for me as a tuner to tune the karts for my set-up, engine, tires, chassis would be consistant throughout the season and I could use what I learned locally if and when we wanted to play at the national level. My drivers, would not need to learn the differing charateristics of tires and motors if I didn’t alter them during the year. If someone was cheating in our respective classes, they didn’t cheat enough.

I ran B’Stones, B in Pro and C in novice because that is what SKUSA runs and I know how to make the tire work. If I tried something differnt, it would change a bunch of stuff in setup and I have a hard enough time just figuring out one tire.

You want to see how quick you are, the TaG class is going to be huge at the Supernats. It will run under TaG USA weights so you can drop a little lead off your kart. I know our team from Phoenix is bringing as many as 14 guys (Master and International) including some ringers like Curtis Ruth who will be driving a Leopard. He won several PMTs in a shifter a couple of years back. I have no doubt that there could easily be 50+ plus drivers for TaG international. For many racers, making the main event without going through the LCQ is a very tall achomplishment. Last year we had over 50 drivers in 80 junior and only 32 make the main event. You gotta be both fast and lucky to win this sucker. Althought they may increase that to 42. Last year had over 350 drivers entered.
I am leaving on Monday (Nov 10) with the trailer and arriving on Tuesday. My kid and wife are flying in Wednesday evening. We leave on Sunday night and back on Monday evening.

ParticipantI think it would be great if we could have an international class and a masters. But not at the expense of dropping from 15 to 20 karts in one class to 6 or 8 in two classes. That seems to be going backwards to me. Next thing you know we would be like IKF with a weight class for every driver! 🙄
I want to keep the rules within the TaG USA rules but with our own weights. That way a guy can qualify for TaG USA festivals next year.
By the way , this years series was sanctioned by TaG USA and every guy/gal who did 75% of the races this year is eligable for all TaG USA national events next year. All you have to do is join TaG USA (something like $25 bucks) and go have fun.

ParticipantWe collected $172.50 for his chassis at Steamboat. If you wish to contribute, I would suggest that you contact Stacey over at Grand Junction as we gave him the money after the race. Some of it was given by children in change from their own funds.

Participant1. I for one would like to see the series stay at 7 races, 9 max. With the weak economy, many of us just flat can not afford to race more. While I greatly enjoy it, too many races burns people out of money. I think our two visits to each track and Steamboat made for one of the most enjoyable seasons of racing we have ever had. If the series was expanded to 12 or more races, it would kill the local programs.
2. No drops. We would have greatly benifited from having a drop this year. Greg would have won the 80 class and Jeff would have been 2nd in the pro class instead of 2nd and 3rd respectively. However, we were not racing for the championship but rather for the enjoyment of racing. I think the championship should go to the racers who were most dedicated to the series and the ones most dedicated to the series are the ones that do all the races.
3. The series needs a tech director and a race director so that there are consistant decisons made at each race. I heard many concerns about cheating but in all actuality, I think very little went on and what did was very minor. The reason I say that is in some of the instances people brought to me about cheating, the supposed cheater must not have been cheating enough because they couldn’t beat karts that I know were not cheating. But of course, the question quickly comes up, who pays for it and who do we get?
4. The series should stay an all Colorado series. We all like to travel but more than 3-4 hours gets old real fast.
5. Classes. Would fewer classes rise participation in other classes or drive some out. A class where only 2 ot 3 show up is hardly a class. Maybe its time to retire those karts.
