ParticipantMitch sent this to me. You can see the bead surface.

ParticipantI can’t give away all my secrets! We do run beadlocks, and looking at the picture, we need them. I hadn’t noticed it before. I wonder if we can get a blow up of that tire. Hey Mitch, how about posting a blowup of the tire so we can see how much it’s deflected!
I like the one of Kyle with the front tire off the ground.

ParticipantI thought the “grand stands” were way cool For no publicity, it was something to see spectators on the “hill” Rick’s right, it does remind me of CDR! I have no doubt that once the grass gets on that hill and with a bit of promotion, we will see that slope full of fans.

ParticipantKind words Rick, we appreciate it.
One of the things we hoped to demontrate this weekend is that just because we call it stock moto, doesn’t mean that its slow. I have no delusions that a stocker will ever be the outright winner in a combined class like we ran this past weekend. The ICC delivers more power and it is smoother in its delivery.
The other thing I hope it demonstrates is how little out right power affects lap times and how important it is for a good driver and a quality setup in the kart. A good ICC engine produces at least 5 to 7 more hp than a stock moto. Yet we ran in front of most of them. We had the kart set up for acceleration. Greg was pulling the front tires off the ground on many corners. We may not of had a lot of hp, put we tried to put every one of them to use!
But for the average karter on a budget, this is a great class to go fast with. I made only one jet change all weekend and I expect to do zero maintenance on the engine all year! At a cost of $3,200 for a complete engine package, this is the class most shifter racers should take a long hard look at. I hope we get so many guys in it we have to have a light and heavy class.

ParticipantPreston,
We will be there as we have been the last two years. We will run both stock moto and Rotax. I would urge everyone who is thinking about doing the RMax regional strongly consider this race as you will be running the same tire and some of the same poeple you will be seeing in California in August.
Since most races don’t give any money, some money is more than we usually get.

ParticipantIt was a good turn out. I have expected more but I think Jim wanted to keep it low key. I don’t kow the count but most race groups have 15 to 20 karts.
Results for todays race are up on mylaps.com
You can check out Mylaps.com for the easter turnout at IMI.

But, frankly, $4K and for a K80 is just crazy–but some desparate dad will pay it.
What is they say about a fool and his money? Or better yet, remember the line from Indiana Jones about the watch, take a $10 watch, bury it in the sand for 10,000 years and it becomes priceless.

ParticipantOh Angie, I’m just whinning ’cause I have to lift the back end and I’m getting old and lazy.
You’re right, last year was 385 and most areas around the country that have only one class run that weight. Some areas that have seen growth in the class are starting to do a light and heavy classes as they have so many drivers. I hope that down the road, we have the same problem, too many racers for a single class!!!!!!

ParticipantI’d love to see stock moto drop to 365#. I only have 45# on the kart getting to #385. Back in the day, SuperPro, when it was moto, ran on 375#. How about a lite and heavy stock class?

ParticipantWe place a note on the steering column of the truck. Its worked more than once.

ParticipantStarting the 20 lap excuses a little early aren’t we Mike?

ParticipantI’ve been to Paris once, had a great time. Did all the tourist things. While the food is great, they don’t do beef. The meat is horrible. Stick to chicken, lamb or sea food and you won’t be disapointed.
Doug Welch
ParticipantBudda, how the heck are you? Give me a call some time and let’s catch up.

ParticipantClosing day at Copper. That’s were I’ll be!
