ParticipantStacey and Mike Adcock were considering it, but missed the G-1 entry cap. I think they might go down and watch. Our mechanic Eric Sove is going to wrench for last years TaG Masters champion John Crow. I will be there as well building the track and working the grid entry again as I did last year.

ParticipantGo for it!!!! We (American’s) Created the sport, and the Italians have “perfected” it. I personally would love to see another domestic kart on the scene.
Try to get a copy of Superkart Illustrated or Nartional Kart News Chassis guide. It could give you some direction. You can also look up some kart chassis web sites.
Your Success or failure depends on you. I commend you for taking on such a project.
Good Luck!

ParticipantExample:
6 guys, LeMans start. Engines dead. Shifter race will have pushers 5 feet behind kart. Green flag drops, pushers push their karts off.
After the 1st lap is completed, the kart running last after every lap is black flagged until the last man stands.
Terry Riggins runs these in Great Lakes SKUSA. They seem to be alot of fun.
For TaG you utilize the same concept, but make the drivers run from across the track, jump in and T a G!

ParticipantSome are concerned about a preceived advantage from one years’ cylinder to another.
Has anyone thought about the preceived advantage of “legacy cases” ( fully modified cases)? CSC Rule 11.3.1.5.1 You can use a modified case through 2007. I would surely beleive some are at an advantage now with these cases. Are we currently adding 10 lbs to the competitors utilizing these cases?
The fact of the matter is all “Spec” and “Stock” moto packages are a frankenstein built package. (99 cylinder, 2000 case, 96 tranny, etc..) I don’t think opening up the rules to allow other cylinders will “kill” Stock/spec moto. Will one have an advantage over another? Maybe? But the fact of the matter is and will always remain that the Driver who is accomplished and knows how to set up a chassis will be the one to beat.

ParticipantI spoke w/ Steve at Extreme. He said ’99’s are history.
Brian Robson
ParticipantI agree that CSC should move slowly on the decision. However, 150 cylinders in october (hopefully) won’t supply the world of karting, or MX. The ’99 only rule is the majority now
Doug, has your insider told you how many ’99 cylinders Honda expects to supply, and by when? If they only supply 150, it will only be a small band-aid. This should be considered in the rules making process.
Thanks,

ParticipantCurt,
How about a questionaire that can be passed out to the CSC members at The Track. The questionaire can be filled out and returned that weekened. The CSC Track owners can then compile the data and discuss this in their meetings for 2007.
Your idea of having a town meeting is very commendable. However, I have seen this happen in Indiana with SIRA. They would have a annual membership rules meeting that would start at 8:00 am and waste a whole day. Most of the time people were leaving angry, mad, sad, disgruntled, etc. :argue It really never seemed to be a productive meeting.
I absolutely agree that the membership should have a voice. They are the backbone of the series. However, I really haven’t seen the public forum be productive.
Thank You,
