ParticipantDoug,
Unfortunately we can not avoid a conflict with a race in Florida. I looked into it, and this is the best date for our schedule. However we have scheduled another Enduro weekend in October. Our complete karting schedule for 2007 is available at http://www.gjmotorspeedway.com

ParticipantCSC 2006 rule book did penalize competitors for using an external method of starting the kart.
10.3.1 Starter Engine must have all the starter components intact and working properly. If alternative methods other than the onboard starter are used to start the engine the competitor must go to the rear of the grid. A jumper battery pack for the purpose of starting on grid connected to the battery only will be allowed.
We sent someone to the rear of the grid at our July race for this reason. We were going by the (CSC’s) rules.
This must be clarifyed as we move forward.
Thanks,
BRBrian Robson
Participantworking on the date now. Unfortunately it might not make everyone’s criteria, but either will the rules and weights!!! :bang
I will have it official very soon. everyone will have plenty of notice.

ParticipantThe rules are written and complete! I am looking into the schedule to find an appropriate date.
Weights are set, and changing tires is up to you. THIS IS ENDURANCE RACING! No mandatory yellows will happen. Run a good pace, preserve your equipment, and see what happens in three hours.
Stay tuned!!!

ParticipantThis will be a Grand Junction Motor Speedway event.
Official event posting comming SOON!!!!!!!!
See you here!

ParticipantGrand Junction is our local track :sun:

ParticipantDo we want one class of 20+ teams? or 4 classes of 5 teams?
The weights will be set at a mid range between Sr and Masters.
Example: Leopard at 375lbs
Keep in mind you MUST have two drivers minimum per team. NO IRON MEN! Each driver will need to make the weight minimum with the kart before and possibly after the race.
Keep the ideas flowing. I am pretty sure on the rules, but won’t be posting them til later.
Stay tuned!!!!!!!

ParticipantOK!!!
The responses are pretty positive. I will have date (alternate date), rules, format, and entry fees put together and posted soon.
I cant eloborate much on it now, but it will probably be a timed event, TaG Only, LeMans start (including running to your kart), cash purse, and the most fun you’ll have in a kart.
Stay tuned……..

ParticipantI am all for a 200 lapper!!! (race time aproximately 3.5hrs)
This is what I propose
TaG only ( leopard/Rotax 370lbs Sonic 400lbs) will review all weights
Minimum 2-drivers per team. Each driver must meet weight requirements age 15 +
MG FZ yellows (one set per team)
No fuel tanks larger than 8 litres
No quick fueling systems (dump tanks only)
Engine must be off during re-fueling. Driver must be out of kart
No full course yellow pit-stops. All pit stops must be under green flag conditions
$300.00 per team (purse based on one paid posistion per 3 teams entered) 9 teams = paid spots 1-3.
This is just a rough idea. I raced NCMP first 2 races (first one was 3hrs then was changed to 200 laps) This was the most fun I ever had in 22 years of this sport. We can base the rules off of their races. They are fair, and efficient.
My biggest question is when? Our schedule is WIDE open! Before Christmas? after the holidays? I am learning Colorado weather patterns as we speak. (like Indiana, unpredictable!) Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

ParticipantIf it runs after being started externally, the coil will be fine. But sometimes after trying many different things you can hurt the coil by not keeping it grounded.
Hopefully Jim Jr. gave you a new black box. The black box is the entire electronic brain to the leopard.
Rick,
Golf is for Mondays when the track is closed. Hopefully it will become snowboarding mondays. Mike Cunningham will have to play golf without me.
Happy Turkey day!!!

ParticipantThanks! It was alot of hard work building the track. I would like to thank Rick and Roman for there help before the event as well. The track was fast, fun, and SAFE! I take alot of pride knowing that no one wound up taking a ride to the crash house. (hospital)
