ParticipantOk, finally have to say something… and I finally have a moment to take a break from posting results and points!!

I am begining to think that for the kid kart class, we should stop handing out first place trophies and give every kid the same trophy. We would not track points so there would be no season championship to win. How about that? It is done this way in many parts of the conutry.
Doug, please don’t consider this… since when have we done things the way it is done everywhere else?! These kids enjoy following the season along like everyone else, and I think the basic structure is fine.
This is just one of those things that needs to be corrected now, and then everyone will get on with letting these kids have fun. It is only a few that are complaining, and most aren’t really complaining so much as trying to figure out what is going on. These new racing parents see these faster kids blasting around the track, and have to wonder. When they ask around, they end up getting two stories– one is the cheating thing, and the other is the seat time. Personally, I think it is the seat time more than anything else, and like Stacey, believe that even if the motors were all mixed up among the drivers, that the same kids are going to run at the front.
The rules have been clarified by Brad, NO MODs, the only thing to be touched is the gearing and a couple of holes in the muffler. That is it. Don’t try to read between the lines, or find the gray areas. You can’t touch anything on these little karts. Let the kids learn how to drive.
To those that think that maybe some of those fast kids shouldn’t be in that class anymore — look at the next step, Junior 1. It is a huge jump to Junior 1, and the kids should not move up until they are ready. I wish there was a class that was in between the Kid Karts and Junior 1. Somewhere that the faster kid kart drivers could move on to further develop their skills before tackling Jr 1. I know that adding classes is not in the cards, but you must admit that with such large fields in both the Kid Karts and the Junior 1 class, that an intermediate class here would be a good idea.
Ok, just my 2cents. It is all about SAFETY and FUN and learning what racing is all about.

one more thing – who would have thought that having a field of 14 kid karts would be a bad thing!!

ParticipantThat was some great racing! It was good to see all the familiar faces at the track, plus so many new ones. With this kind of start, it is bound to be an excellent season!
I want to thank you all for not hounding me for the results to be posted!! Like everyone else, we got home quite late, and this morning it was back to the school and work routine, plus unloading the trailer… Anyway, I am working on the results and points pages for the series, and will let you know as soon as I have them done! First race always takes a little more time to get it all set up.

ParticipantRich,
I plan on posting the results… maybe from the calendar, not quite sure, but I will let you know here. Posting like this makes it quick. The more I can get results on a disk rather than paper, the more information I can pass along. Thanks for the feedback!angie :type:

ParticipantWell, I never got the results (what few classes did get qual in) to print. I think I just figured out the excel file, so will post those times here shortly.
Ben, actually one of the karts faster than you was a Senior, too. Brian Carelli had the fastest time at 56.124, and then Corey with a 56.218, and Schermerhorn next with a 56.431. Like I said, I will post the rest in a few minutes!!

The only changes were to the TAG Senior weights to reflect that they will be TAGUSA/SKUSA plus 20 lbs (and may be subject to change during the season if TAGUSA/SKUSA makes any changes). Also, the 125 Senior/Heavy shifters are allowed to use YHB and MG Yellow.
that’s all folks! :box
