I am working on results and IMI Points. If someone would hire me a nanny or take my kids, I might get these done sooner! Thanks for your patience.

ParticipantAre you racing TAG Senior? If so, take a look at the points pages (links below) for CSC and IMI… that will give you an idea of which numbers are being used in your class. It should be a unique number from those already there, and should be two numbers. Also, the Leopard for TaG Senior is 360lbs.

ParticipantKen,
Welcome to the wonderful world of karting in Colorado!! I am sure that since you joined this forum a year ago, and have been reading it since… you can see what you are getting into!! Really, I think you will love it, and will find your fellow karters friendly and helpful.Anyway, on to your questions. I suggest contacting Bill Noud of Rocky Mountain Kartworks. He and his son AJ were part of McGrath Motorsports, and now Bill has his own thing going. He is a dealer for GP and Sonik. His number is 970-218-5724. Tell him I said to call! Also, I am sure that everyone will respond with answers to your other questions, but ask Bill those questions, too.
good luck
Angie

ParticipantI counted 53 at Moran for SKUSA, here is the Stars results (150)…
http://www.ekartingnews.com/news_info.php?n=2649
and in PA for Stars eastern I counted 144.
SKUSA ProMoto East in FL had 73, I think.

ParticipantKurt,
I am glad you had the opportunity to see the SKUSA event! You are right about the Cook family and Grand Junction Motor Speedway – great facility and great people. For us it was the back to back weekends with the CSC event that really killed it for us. We really wanted to get back over there to experience a ProMoto event, but the reality of driving back over and staying overnight with the kids was not in the cards. Sounds lame, I know, but it is a long car ride with the kids – and even the little ones won’t get left behind when they know we are going to a race!! And then there is the new chassis/motor combo in a million pieces, sitting in the shop, waiting to get put together and get some track time before the next event!
I was a little disappointed at the lack of news on this event. In all of the usual places… ekartingnews and the SKUSA site. No hype, nothing. Maybe I could/should have done more coverage.
I counted 59 entries… the last ProMoto at Moran had like 53.
Kurt, I hope you can make it to the CSC race at IMI on June 13th!

ParticipantKyle,
Congratulations on your podiums at Grand Junction!
We aren’t USING the entire SKUSA points system… the CSC points system is BASED ON the SKUSA points structure!! I don’t know why it was decided to use this part of the points and not do the points for qualifying and prefinal.. this is the same system the CSC used last year. Keeps it simpler for me, but I could see wanting the others to count, too. Maybe you should bring it up for next year.

ParticipantWell, I should have a page explaining, as I did last year, about the points. The difference is a field factor – so first place is 200 plus one point for each kart raced against in the Main. Here is a chart that I use to figure it out pretty easily…… It is based on SKUSA’s point structure.

does that help?
thanks,

ParticipantJeff,
Sometimes I hesitate before posting anything… it seems emotions are hard to put into words, and oftentimes the message seems to come across much harsher than intended :sun:
I agree with you on this Mini Max issue. Sorry if I was not clear. On race day, I saw the problem coming as soon as the practices started – Even before the drivers’ meeting, I spoke with Stacey and Doug Welch on the issue to try to head it off, to no avail. Stacey said the Mini Maxes are running, give them points or don’t, but they are running as part of the Junior 1 class. Doug pretty much agreed with that, and suggested we give them points, too. Everyone seemed to get on with the race day, so I just let it lie until we got home… at which point I talked with both Brad Linkus and JB Olmstead. They clarified what we all know, which is that the Mini Max is not an approved motor for the Junior 1 class, and therefore will not be recognized in the series.
What I meant about Stacey saying all along that the Mini Max would be running at his track goes back to January, where he posted this….
Regardless the Mini Max will be running at Grand Junction Motor Speedway weather it is a stand alone class or in the Jr 1. If the Briggs drivers choose not to run against it that will be their choice.and this…
there are 3 over here with 2 more in the next 60 days. I can only commit that 2 will do the CSC series, Sabre’ my daughter and Christian Bird. I think it would be really easy to run them with the Jr 1 and score them seperatley if there is at least 3 or see how they compare and then make the decision weather to include or not include them. Just my thoughts…On a personal note, I have nothing against the Mini Max, I just don’t think their place is with the menagerie of motors that we already have in the Junior 1 class. The other motors have been closely evaluated, and pretty much put through the wringer in order to get the rules dialed in, so tossing another motor in and expecting everyone to deal with it, is just not good.
Like you, I really appreciate the efforts of Stacey and his group over there. It was a great weekend, and I have no complaints. I really enjoy working with Stacey, his family, and the rest of the GJMS gang – I hope they don’t take this personal! Heck we were even going to have Cole drive a Mini Max while there, just to check it out!! ( Thanks for the offer Stacey!)
You know, we sold our Animals – done with the Junior 1 scene!!
see you
