InactiveI too watched the USGP today. I have a couple of observations: First, I don’t know why Michael Schumacher was not penalized for two very clear blocking moves on the start. The rules state that you may make a single move and then must hold your line…Second: I couldn’t believe that Ralf Schumacher sat in his damaged car while the so-called safety crew diddled around making a “parade” lap. Thank God he was not seriously injured. Laugh at NASCAR if you will, but in this area they do a much better job. Finally: The fact that they let Montoya run 58 laps after his “infraction” was comitted was totally ridiculous….If you know that you are going to black flag a competitor — DO IT, but don’t let him race and risk his life and equipment for 50+ laps……dumb, dumb, dumb. If F1 wants to be the “ultimate” racing series, they’re going to have to do a lot better than this.

ParticipantGreat commentary Wayne, right on the money. I go to the 500 yearly and when they have a wreck the safety crew is on it immediately, period. Would they have moved quicker if his car was on fire? :idn:
I’ve rewatched the TIVO and I can clearly see a gentleman (and I use that word loosely 8) ) that looks like Sam throwing debris on the track PRIOR to the Alonso and Schuey Jr tire deflations. Sam, do you have anything to say??? I won’t tell, it will be our secret just amonst us

InactiveLet me say this I have officialy retired, this month anyway. I sold my kart to a local hero, so I will wrenching for Tyler the rest of the season. Back to the F1 race, when Alonzo crashed he climbed through the fence to get off the track and he was standing 20 ft in front of us. Mark Webber caught on fire in front us, that was pretty cool. But then of course Sato made his pass under Trulli, that was awesome so we had a great time. Oh yea and got pretty sunburnt too. SEE YAA!!! OH OH OH and dont forget Minardi scored a point.
