ParticipantThis may bring it a little closer to home. He raced several races in the CSC series in 2003, before moving on to bigger and better things. He and his dad could be found at the tracks getting in practice time. Very nice people, and I wish them the best!

ParticipantWhen we first set the schedule, we worked around the Stars West schedule, as well as the National and Regional Rotax events where possible, obviously there is no pleasing everyone. Stars had this race tentatively set for the 16-17 OR the 23-24, so we had a fifty fifty shot. IF it works for Stacey and IMI, then we should probably change it.

ParticipantI am working on putting together a Tech section. Tech advice, links to helpful info, etc. So if anyone has anything like that, send it my way.

ParticipantI am almost afraid to post anything…. I have thought over my wording 100 times to try to make it just right so I don’t get yelled at! but here goes…
There is at least one thing item that will require racers to vote at the IMI/CSC Meeting scheduled for Feb 19 at IMI…. And that is to vote for some ?Racer Representatives?
The representatives will act as liaisons, keeping the communication open between the ?board? and the racers. Four representative positions are proposed. One from shifter ranks, one from tag ranks, one from the Briggs drivers, and one representing the junior classes (including Kid Karts). Racers need to be thinking about who would best represent them. The representatives should be willing to be available to talk to the racers, and be available for meetings with the CSC board ( by phone and/or in person).
The whole point is… there is work going on behind the scenes..toward making the future of the CSC better. There are some decisions that have and will be made without the input of every racer out there. Maybe it seems like some sort of “closed door” process, or maybe you just think that nothing is being done. Whatever it is, we need to address the issue, and at least be sure that the concerns of the racers are being heard. And the above is a step in that direction….
ok, have at it….

ParticipantThere will be a meeting… however, it won’t be a big voting session. There will be little, if anything at all, that will be open for the kart racers to vote on. I guess I would say it is more of a tradition being upheld here, by having a “meeting” where things can be discussed over some cold beer and tasty pizza!
I know everyone is getting anxious to see the rules. You are going to have to be patient for a little longer. Boy, I thought with the announcement of Race Director it would keep people happy for a few more days! We are working on this, and you can expect more announcements to be made soon as to rules, meetings, and so on.
A couple of things you can be certain of… there will be a rule book and there will be tech.As for the schedules, CSC, IMI, GJMS and CRE have them out. The CSC schedule is official.

ParticipantI noticed that you got the date change .
thanks, by the way, for putting this together, it is a great idea.
On the subject of calendars, it should be noted that all registered users are able to post things on The Colorado Karter calendar. I haven’t had time to sit down and enter all of the items from the schedule onto the calendar, but I will (unless someone were to beat me to it!) :type: :type:

ParticipantRichard,
There was a schedule change on the CSC dates. Sorry to mess it up for you! Also, when I download this, the numbers for the dates are huge, and the items in color are much smaller and kind of hard to read.Angie MacEwen

Angie,
Are those age ranges for the classes you mention set in stone or will there be exception/exemptions? Can someone older or someone younger race in those classess? What is the criteria for that? And what is the cut-off date, Dec 31 of the prior year?Don, the age ranges are FIRM. There will be a process for exceptions, but people should not assume that they can breeze through without anyone noticing. There have been issues in the past that have caused the scrutinizing of this rule. Look for more details on this soon, for now, anyone with a concern about their racer should contact me. The cut-off will be July 1st of the race year.

ParticipantThe Mini Max class is happening.
Last year there were a few Mini Maxes that raced at some CSC events. They were mixed in with the Jr 1 class, and ran successfully there.
With that being said… It most likely will be that the Cadet Tag (Mini Max) will be run on the track at the same time as the Junior 1 classes , and scored seperately-UNLESS there are just too many karts to do so. That magic number of what too many is, is yet to be decided (and obviously could be different per track, due to size). There is just no way for us to keep adding individual track sessions for every class. The series is growing, and there are going to be lots of karts on the track in every session, there is no way around it.The arguments for not putting these classes together – one class becoming a factor in another classes’ outcome, too many karts on the track for the junior drivers, drivers wanting to run in more than one of the classes, and so on – were included in the discussions among the CSC board to come to this conclusuion.
So, Brian, I hope that gives you the information you need to make a decision – even though it isn’t what you wanted to hear.

(Tom, the answers to your questions are going to be addressed very soon – be patient, and know that much is going on behind the scenes, with results to be seen by all shortly!)
