ParticipantI already illustrated how a date change does not interfere with any Rotax Max Challenge series dates for that particular span of time in April. Stacey seemed willing.
I agree, the more karts the better. Also, it starts the CSC series sooner which at this time of the year sounds oh so much better. Drivers still better use their one drop wisely.

ParticipantI have not lobbied for any CSC date to change at any time for any reason this year. A conflict with Rotax grands doesn’t affect us at all as we do not intend on going. In fact, we won’t be contending for any CSC championship this year as there are too many conflicts with the current dates and other things we think are more important.
Jeff is off to his real life now, so his racing is most likely over and Greg is off to marching band this fall and most likely will not be attending any races this fall. Plus, we have a couple of dates out of state we would like to do this summer that come on CSC dates. At best we will only do 4 CSC races this year.
Change them how ever you like. I’m just pointing out that for every change to suit one guy or group of guys, there is another group of guys that will not go because of the change. If you change the date to one that stomps over a CRE date, then you won’t get any of those guys that may have been interested in attending a CSC date. That is why we have drops, so that a racer can do other things and not be taken out of a championship.

InactiveNow we got another date change request on the other thread. Once you set dates keep them as people are making plans or already made plans. I agree with Doug that is why we have drops.
Even if IMI can change its’ date CRE is still there. Not fair to George and it doesn’t matter that he doesn’t want or can’t participate he is a Colorado Track.
We all
and moaned as to when the heck are the schedules coming out-they came out, were finalized and now we got two requests to change-sorry guys, my worthless vote is no.I didn’t lobby for a rotax change with IMI vs Grands. I was just going to deal with it as I did last year missing the double points race at IMI.

ParticipantWhen we first set the schedule, we worked around the Stars West schedule, as well as the National and Regional Rotax events where possible, obviously there is no pleasing everyone. Stars had this race tentatively set for the 16-17 OR the 23-24, so we had a fifty fifty shot. IF it works for Stacey and IMI, then we should probably change it.

ParticipantRich, Unfortunatly I am one of the guys that wants to see Colorado drivers succeed on the national level! I also want them here making the racing better for all of us. If Brad is ok with moving his Date we will move to the 17th… sorry.

ParticipantRich,
Why does CRE matter to you so much. They don’t care too much about the CSC dates, so why should we care about their dates. I do not mean this in a bad way, I just mean that CRE dates are not somehting the CSC needs to worry too much about, they run their program, and we run ours. I know many races last year that were on eachothers dates, and it did not seem to be too big of a deal. We went out of the way so 5 colorado rotax drivers could go to nats, so when more then 5 stars guys want to go you have to complain about it. Lets make this user friendly. The kid kart guy maybe the only one going to his thing, but what about close to 10 guys going to stars WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THE CSC SINCE ITS BIRTH!!!!!!!!!January 29, 2005 at 10:06 pm #49649Jim Keesling
ParticipantI had this exact problem racing sailboats. How do you choose between racing and supporting the events at home, and still race on the road?
We allowed up to two races locally to be awarded “average” points from your entire season. That way, if you need to travel and race on a national level, you knew you were getting your average points back home if there was a conflict in the schedule. The only requirement, you actually raced on the road. no dnc’s (did not compete). The event had to be a “National” event.
Your average points included any DQ’s and could not drop any events for your average. All points had to be figured at the end of the season.
Just food for thought.

ParticipantI would think the 17th would also be bad for the national guys. I always hated doing a race the weekend before a big deal event. Two reasons, too much risk of damaging the kart. Second, no time to prepare for the event. That gives like two days to complelety tear the kart apart, set it up and pack the trailer before leaving town. Then you get there with no time to test. That puts you behind the other guys who have been there all week burning up tires.
Personally, I would test on Saturday mostly to shake the kart down. Then leave on Sunday or Monday and spend the week in Moran testing. That’s what most of the fast guys will be doing.

ParticipantDoug,
At a STARS event you can’t be on the track 7 days prior to the event.
So no advantage getting there early.Brian Moore

InactiveI think the real question should be………….
If you could race only one race….where would you rather be? At a STARS event or a local event?
I’ll be at the national event any day if i can.

InactiveGuys,
this is my beef: I am trying to figure out my schedule and each time we make exceptions it screws up my plans.
My plans are not just racing but vacations, biz trips, reservations, etc. and I can’t do that with track schedules changing.
Track owners when you come out with schedules stick with them. Maybe don’t post until 15Feb after all the national races are set.
When are the schedules going to be FINAL?
From what I have heard there still may be changes with IMI, GJMS and CSC schedules. The only stable one is CRE and maybe that is why my comment about CRE (Marc).
