    Brian,
the CSC has rules, it has rulebooks, it enforces rules. You haven’t been racing the CSC this year, so please just leave well enough alone. Constructive suggestions are one thing, but give the bashing a break, please.

Freeze, glad to have you back. No need to keep quiet. Give us some more ideas for next year. Maybe you should start that cryo machine up and put an ad in the directory I am working on!

OK, I can easily add a sponsors page here on theColoradoKarter with that type of info. I have even thought of putting it into a printed guide, a mini yellow pages for karting in Colorado. Anyone interested in having their info in such a publication, please contact me. If you have sponsors that might be interested, please email me the names and numbers and I will contact them about it. By the way, I kind of started this way back, and found that it was a ton of work to get people to give me their info.

    Freeze,
The spec fuel idea was totally about controlling the fuel. It is very hard to tech fuel without spec fuel and oil. The price certainly has gone up. GJMS is the only track where you HAVE to get the fuel from them, otherwise you can buy the VP fuel wherever you want. None of that profit (don’t know how much profit there is in the fuel) goes to the CSC, it goes to the tracks.
The CSC gets $10 per entry per race to put toward the year end banquet and awards, etc. The CSC has not really given out any big money on the podium, except for individual events, like Steamboat. That money was obtained by the race promotor (Byron), from extra sponsors, the Steamboat Chamber of Commerce, and so on.

Kid Karts do pay the same as everyone else, and they get basically the same amount of track time, same awards, and so on. The Novice125 Shifter class and Pro class deal is an issue. Anyone that gets three or more podiums in the Novice 125 class this year, cannot be Novice next year – other than that, there really isn’t any difference. Should there be a Pro class and a Novice class next year?

And Hotwheels. There has already been talk about the Junior 1 issue, and the classes are going to be adjusted. The rulebooks were out late this year, but were printed and available at the races. And at least there were some rules available from downloads until the books were complete.

Jack, count you out on two day events? or of the CSC no matter what?

Don, I don’t think TaG USA rules specifiy anything about series wide rules. The two engines is per race. I personally agree (meaning my opinion only) that a racer should get only one engine package for the series. Or at least, only one engine package change – for example, you blow up a Rotax and decide to go with a Leopard instead for the rest of the season, or something like that. But no switching back and forth depending on what track you are at. Something to think about, for sure, to keep costs down. What does everyone else think?

I would like to see 5 events, one at each track, one temp, no drops. If they are two day events, it should be one event, like Greeley. With Practice and Qual on Sat, Heat and Main on Sun. Again, my opinion.

    Gary,
There are a couple of reasons that applies.
One. When an individual is known as an official, representative, contract employee, etc. of an organization, then anything that person writes or says COULD be taken to be an official announcement. I TRY (maybe not as good as I should, too) to be specific when something I post is official information or if it is my opinion.
Two. You just really shouldn’t be saying anything negative about an organization while you are still a representative of that organization.
As an example: If I am not mistaken, in business practice, employees often sign agreements to that effect when they are hired. You agree not to give away any company secrets OR bad mouth the company you are hired on with.

by the way, this post is my personal opinion and not an official CSC response

Wow, I don’t know where to start. Well, first thank you to those who came to my defense. Most of you know why I started this site, and know that I do not take deleting posts lightly.

    Now, the most recent post…

Brian, even back when you signed up, there was still something you agreed to. It may be more specific now, or harsher even, but it was there.

There were posts deleted over the weekend…. and they did have to do with the CSC and the race going on in GJ. I was not able to monitor the site all weekend, and authorized somebody else (blink) to delete any posts that were potentially harmful to the CSC and the race activities going on in Grand Junction. Some of you may not agree with me doing that, but it is my site (I am the sole owner). I may not like what everybody posts on here, but I have not made a habit out of deleting posts just because I don’t agree with what it says. But when the majority of people that would be on the defensive side of the discussion are at the track and not monitoring the website (including me), I decided it would be only fair to table the discussion until both sides could read and respond.

Since it was Rusty who started the thread that was deleted, it may have sounded like an “official” CSC post. It was not “official” and it was causing some confusion. The race was not in jeopardy of losing its series status, and that is the way the original post came across.

Rusty, I did authorize Brad to delete your post and the rest of the thread. I did not even have him read it to me first. I am sorry if you think that was uncalled for, but it is the decision I made.

To all, I do apologize for any frustration or confusion that the posting and removal of the posts may have caused. I did not want to have to worry about what was being posted on here every minute of the weekend, so blink’s admin capabilities were ON during that time. I sure hope this doesn’t happen every time I leave my computer for a day or more – Guess I have to get a moderator to cover my back. (Michaela volunteered I believe!) or maybe I just lock the forum whenever I am away.

Rusty, if you really want to discuss this topic on this forum, by all means please post your concerns. It would really be better to discuss it with the “powers that be” first. I am arranging a conference call for (hopefully) later this week. And for those of you wondering, that would be me as facilitator on a call with the owner/operators of the four tracks that participate in the CSC. And as a side note… As a person that is working in a capacity of an official, or representative of the CSC, you really should be careful what you say or write about the organization in public.

I think I have done a reasonable job keeping the forum going in the right direction. Some of you may not think so, and you are welcome to leave at any time if you don’t agree with what I have done or not done.

    Thanks guys.

It has been three years (6-3-2003) since the forum went active. The site itself was up before that! My how time flies.
Anyhow, thought it would be nice to add some features, so I will be working on (around the busy racing schedule) things like a thorough FAQ for the newbies, driver bio pages, etc. Suggestions are welcome, too!

    Thanks again,
    happy racing

Oh, sorry, were you talking to me?? I was too busy working on the points to notice!

Thanks for the quick defense Mike – but I can understand why folks are anxious, too.
and the OMG was in reference to you missing Cole SMILING on the top step of the podium in Greeley!! No tires, how about a gold star.

Points should be up in the morning. Thanks for being so patient.
