I had a pretty poor qualifying and opening lap, but man was the racing fun! Lovin it. And check out Rods aforementioned 25 year old chassis…you should be able to pick it out, that thing is pure old school cool.
First time I’ve been in a race kart in about 5 years, lots of fun, and I got some good screen time on your video Jon (I’m in the 323 kart). When I came back from the race, Greg Welch asked who I was rubbing with (I had a little bit of white on my right rear. I told him I didn’t know, I see on the video it was a little rubbing with Jim K. Anyway lots of fun for sure, and the racing seemed quite clean. Thanks for posting the video.

ParticipantYep, in fact I was there when Sabre’ was driving. They have a couple different pricing things, for me the best thing to do is grab them for an entire hour. Maybe Preston will jump in and give the details.

ParticipantKudos to all those who made this happen!

Apparently there are some guys still using it for “testing”.

This video was from a year ago. My office is in the north metro area and I take some back roads from there to get to the airport. I drive by that track every time I go. From the side road it looks in far worse condition than this video.
Cris
Hey that guy is going backwards!
Backwards for sure, I was thinking the same thing….that bump on the back straight at 100MPH in a shifter was pretty exciting.

ParticipantWell we finally made it to a race last night (since Austin was home from school). It was a bit chilly but we had a fun time. We had only been to Unser once when it first opened. Austin qualified 1st with a 20.2 and I qualified 6th with a 20.4. In the main Austin set the overall track record at a 20.0 only to be outdone with a lap to go with someone else getting a 19.9 Austin finished second, and I went backwards in the main, but we both had a great time and it was a fun group of people. Then we went outside and found a new 6″ of snow on the ground for our drive back to Highlands Ranch.

ParticipantGreg are you guys doing any leagues?

ParticipantCurt, I think Speed Raceway is having a screening tonight. Unfortantely I won’t be able to get there or the Landmark on opeing day. I hope it is still playing next week at the Landmark….I can hardley wait.

ParticipantGreat showing by Colorado karters! Didn’t make the event but listened in live to some of the racing on ekartingnews. Cory Milne with 2 firsts in a stacked S2 filed. One of the more exciting racing was saturday’s Tag Masters with Brian Robson charging with fast lap after fast lap….nice run Brian.

ParticipantHow about a “Part-time Geezer” class for us 45 year olds. Dependent on my lower back….some days I feel like a kid and some days I definitely feel like a geezer, so I think that makes me a part time geezer…. 😀

No points, no championships, JUST FUN 😀
Gunter- Motori 28hp 360 pounds , Mark Krivanek-Vampire 34hp,410 pounds.
several other Vampires.
Open Class, Pepsi race tires.
Take the ballast off Jason and join in.
As for Scott, I dont think he could lose 40 pounds by then,
so I will enter Chrissy on her Cruisin Cooler (3/4hp) so that he will have someone to race 😆I saw that cooler thing at the Pepsi Center, it was “COOL”. I’d like to come down and have some fun but I have some other committments that I can’t get out of.
Have fun and be safe

ParticipantI didn’t pay any sort of membership fee, it seems the fair thing would be for all of us “one-timers” to not be included in the points race for the RTR series.
My 2 cents

ParticipantSo sore, so tired……… well I found the 55’s but the 52’s were not even on my radar. Sabre and the other leader were in the mid 54’s and I was in the mid 55’s. Turned my fast lap in about lap 14 of the main. My kids had to lift me out of the kart by the end of the day.
Had a great time.

ParticipantThanks to Stacey and the crew at CRZ for putting me in a great kart. Had a great time!!

ParticipantUGH….can hardly lift my hands to type the email. I am totally whipped. Had a great time but I am not ready to comitt back to the sport for two reasons. First, I feel like I was in a gang fight yesterday (and I lost), but the bigger issue is that everyone (with the exception of Scott who’s response was totally cool) is so damn ready to start a fight, being overly sensative, picking sides in some sort of political war that for the life of me I can’t understand (and frankly I have no interest in hearing anything about it). I raced in Tag Senior instead of Master’s yesterday because there were 7 seniors and only 2 masters. There was one master that was quite fast (Ron Reed). There were a some seniors that were also quite fast (Sabre Cook and some other gun on a arrow). I was a little over a second slower then the fastest peopel there, but had a great race with another guy on a CRG.
I had fun, plenty of people in our race, track is BUMPY!! But in the words of the great philosopher Rodney King “Why can’t we all get along”.
I’ll probably come by the track this weekend to watch, but hat’s off to you guys and gals who do this all the time. I have bruises in places I didn’t think you could bruise.
Russ
PS saying Scott won’t leave the pond is total BS, the guy races all over the nation and does fantastic at the national level….my hat’s off to Scott.
