Are the 3 weight classes for LO206 final now? Need to know since GJMT club is going to use the same weights and their 1st race is on April 10th. Gotta get the karts set up for the weights and get some practice in soon.

For GJMS, around 3.6-3.7 depending on direction and your weight class.

Back when I ran WKA in the 80s they had 3 adult weight class for stock Briggs. The weights were close enough that a lot of people would run 2 weight classes by bolting on 20-25# of lead. Just needed to have the classes spread out enough to be able to work on the kart between races. Being able to run 2 classes in one weekend might not be a bad thing and it could keep number of karts up. Just a thought.

Don’t think having 3 or 2 classes will matter much. There would be very few who could make a light weight of 300. The driver would have to be 150 or less with a very ligh kart. Probably really only going to be a medium and heavy based on what the karts and drivers weigh. Would be nice if we have enough for 3 classes, but we will see. Hopefully it will grow enough for this to occur.

GJMS did have some. They were running low though.

Not sure in the Denver area, but there has to be at least one dealer. On the western slope, Mr. Detector in Montrose sells it. Is a little over $17 a quart.

If you go to GJMS, let me know. Might be able to join you. I still have to get another set of reds and put the other kart back together. Itching to try out my new to me Exprit kart.

I too, have been trying to drum up interest in LO206. I even posted an ad with info on C/L. Got one guy into it by selling him my old kart for a great price. Talk about no interest, we only had 5 total karts at GJMS with me and my son included. I hope this series will help get more into it. Anything that will bring numbers up would be great!

If there were only 2 weights, probably 335 and 385 would work best? No matter what you do, some will be too heavy for one or have to bolt on a ton of lead for the other. If there are not enough for one class (under 5 karts), will those that show up at that weight have to enter in another weight class either up or down in weight?

GoPro is in the heart of WKA and NASCAR racing. A lot of racers to pull from for large kart counts. I bet half the people there are involved in auto racing somehow. It is where most NASCAR drivers call home. Wish we could have that much interest in racing here. When I was racing Legends cars in Charlotte, I could race 2-3 days a week during the summer. Dirt ovals, paved ovals, road courses. Think there were 8 different tracks within 2 hours of me. Now 1 track that is 2 hours away lol. Lot less dog eat dog mentality here though. Think everyone here understands that they will not be the next Joey Legano. Makes for funner, less stressful race weekends. Still pretty competitive though.

Votes posted. I like the 325 class, as my son weights about 160 and I have to bolt a ton of lead on to get him up over 350. Me, I like the 365. I will need a little bit of lead to make that. If there aren’t enough people for one of the classes, then you might need to make sure you can bolt on a lot of lead. Stinks for anyone that has to do that, but definitely doable.

Still looking. Want mags. Fronts need to be hub mount. Don’t need reds anymore. Could use a set with Duros mounted on them though. If going to GJMS, could pick them up there. Will pay up to $125 depending on condition. Will obviously pay more if you have some with Duros (up to $200).

My son and I will be racing at all events at GJMS. Would like to make it to at least one of the MG races on the Front Range too. If things work out, might run all of them. Is CKT going to be using Duros or reds or the IKF blue tires for LO?
