ParticipantLook for a 30mm tag chassis with LO206 mounted on it used. If you can find someone quiting, you can usually get a good deal on a total package with gear, parts, etc. Easiest way to get into the sport. Otherwise, it will nickel and dime you to death getting all the things you need.

ParticipantGreat class to learn racecraft in. Your budget will be the determining factor as to what to get. Lot of options out there. Probably best to get a 4 cycle specific chassis unless you want to use the same one for TaG later. Most chassis will work with the LO206, but some can have some clearance issues with the inboard clutch.

ParticipantMargay makes a limo version of their karts too. There is a heavy weight class in 206. The CSC runs 385 lbs class. Most companies make a 4 cycle specific chassis now. Not all have a version for the tall. Margay is an US company and has made 4 cycle chassis for many years. Not sure who is a dealer around here? You might have some clearance issues with a wider seat on a 2 cycle specific chassis. I ran a OTK 2 cycle chassis and had just enough room to mount a seat to fit me at 175 lbs. I currently run a Margay Brava 4.13 and it has a lot more room for chain and engine clearance.

ParticipantOK, found times from the last CSC race there in April. Looks like I’m in the ball park to run mid pack already. Just need some more track time and I should be OK.

ParticipantEd, thanks for the advice. Will see what I can find.

ParticipantJust looking for an average lap time to shoot for. Anybody run the CSC and have some times?

ParticipantKarts have arrived! Not sure how many they have, but 2 are already sold. They look nice!

ParticipantStacey expects them in next week and they will have a demo available. Come check them out.

ParticipantSale pending. Will update next Friday. Looks like the kart will hit the tracks in Denver area. Was hoping it would stay a little closer to GJMS, but at least it’s still in CO.

ParticipantLooks like my kart is going to be on your side of the mountain. Darn, would love to see it race at GJMS. How can GJMS get more karts? Doesn’t one of the rental tracks have LO206 to rent if you are fast enough on the regular rentals? Seems like a good way to get people interested. Also the new spec karts that are around $3800 complete seem like a good idea.

ParticipantWish we could get 5-6 at GJMS for club races. Last time I raced, we had 2. Got a new one coming though. And I hope I can get a new driver in my kart that is for sale too.

ParticipantSeems like it’s in the best interest of the track to keep the cost down. Less profit per racer, but it is made up and then some by having more racers. It’s a win win. If I ran a track or kart shop, I would be promoting the heck out of LO206 to get more people on track. Uniform engine rules all throughout North America. Low cost to purchase. Low cost to run. Will result in more people racing IMO.

ParticipantGJ would be best. I’m 2 hours south towards Durango.

ParticipantI will send pics as soon as I can. Not sure when I can get back to the track but hope to this week. I actually have no idea on hours for the engine as I bought the package used. It seems to run fine, as it is competitive speed wise. I can include some rear gears and have some extra wheels. I only have one stand and will still be racing. I am flexible on the price.
