CRE has World Formula Engine packages for $1150 (Call CRE to verify)
This gets you the following: Premier Titan clutch w/ 16&17T sprockets, Walbro slide carb & manifold, Team Geen air filter, Walbro fuel pump, Header, RLV #4110 Canadian pipe/silencer, pipe cradle and support bracket, Battery box, 12v battery, wiring supplies.I thought the CRE rules were with an RVL 4108 silencer. Are both allowed? Is the size and sound the only difference or does one flow better?

ParticipantKurt, Our real question on the rear tire was if 4.50’s were allowed like last year since WKA rules were 6.00 for this age group. They were quicker for most karts than 6.00’s. I would not consider the 7.10 either.

ParticipantIf we go with 285 or especially 310, the easiest bump in power would be to go to methanol. $40 jet kit and you do not have to open the motor and replace parts.
Mike, I agree that the kids would be slower than last year’s Jr1 animal but they still may be as fast or faster than this years Honda if they use the engine package and spec gear they were taking about.
This is one of the reasons I think that age group would be ready for a world formula motor. I may bolt on my WF to Tyler’s kart and let him see the difference. (Rev limiter connected). 4 cycle Briggs TAG!

ParticipantHow about a class for this.

ParticipantThanks James, You have a PM.

ParticipantI’ve got a high speed verizon wireless card for a laptop, maybe you can mount one of those vehicle laptop mounts on your kart and you can work while you race!

ParticipantGreg, Will I be able to race with the Briggs mod class with this carb?
Acually what I mean is would it be legal if I convert it to meth and race with this carb? It would be cheaper for me. I planned on using the PVL Flywheel and animal magneto.
Also I have been looking for a jet kit, do you know where I can get them?
I might try Jimbo or Bear on 4cycle.comLes Prins
ParticipantI just heat them up in the oven and wrestle them off and on by hand. I use a little dish soap in water to lube up the rims and tire beads. Push the new tire on at a 45 deg angle with the rim on the floor with a rug. It makes a mess so use an old rug. Once you get the hang of it, it actually is pretty easy. The key is to heat the tire up for me….
BTW, it’s a good workout for your hands and arms too!

ParticipantNope, can’t see it. You might have to add it as an attachment..

ParticipantJames, My guess is that the WF head and porting work is the real difference for Greg from a Mod animal. I am not sure what kind of bump I would get with a tilly on methanol with a stock WF, maybe around 3 with increasing the timing. I may also play with rejetting the WF PZ carb and see how it runs on alky just for fun.

Les, just me, everyone else is from the Springs… Greg Johnson has the brigg mods run here in Denver. It’s a cool class if you like to do the motor work. The WF could run at the back of their class. But there may be enough of a difference that we would have to watch for the blue flag toward the end of the main.

You know, It’s hard being a racer when you hate to buy tires!
I am thinking about it if I can find the tilly and intake cheap, I have the WF already. I don’t plan on doing much work on the engine except for the PVL ignition and carb to run alcohol.
BTW I don’t know if you recognize my name but I was the one who bought the alky animal from you so I could keep up with my kids JR1 kart. It is still running great and have not done anything to it except try the WF cam in it. I may be using it as a practice motor for Ty now…Les

ParticipantJames, How many W/F karts are in the Denver area that travel to CRE? It looks like there was some interest in racing at The Track last year if there was enough of them.

ParticipantThings burn faster in smaller pieces….

we have the new little one (not sure the number) and it got knocked off in Vegas. It got beat up pretty bad but it still works. The first transponder I’ve seen with tire marks on it, then it looks like it may have drug a while before seperating from the kart.
Hey Rick, I thought the only one we could use was the 160 yellow one and if it drug for a while, did it have wires for a battery? If it is not too much trouble, can you let us know what model or color it is (if the model number rubbed off)? I know there are several models from R/C cars to Race cars that AMB produces.
Les Prins
ParticipantJim, I wouldn’t want to buy all of those either. I think they cost too much for what you get and they need to last longer than a few years. Not smart to seal the batteries in the case.
So will we need to buy them and if we do, can we use 1 for both of our kids as long as they are not in the same race? Just trying to save a little money…
