As many of you already know, I had to leave the race unexpectedly on Saturday to fly back to California for my mothers surgery. She came through surgery just fine and is slowly headed towards recovery. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. That being said, I want to send a special thanks to all the people of PPKRC that helped my wife Cara (first time racer) stay on the track. She had one of the greatest experiences of her life because of you all. For those of you who are on the fence about running with PPKRC, I suggest you jump over the fence and come down and race with them. The people of PPKRC are second to none. The people are great, the Track layouts are awesome and the friendships are priceless. Special thanks to Tim, Gerald and Dennis for being Cara’s pit crew
Eddie,
So happy to hear your mother is pulling through and is going to recover. We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers for a full recovery. I am sure that you being there was a great comfort to her.
The folks at PPIR did do a great job and watching Cara on the podium with all the other girls was something special for all of us. We missed seeing you pound the 4-stroke shifter around the course, but I know you will be there at the next round.
Till then, keep us posted on your mothers progress.Curt

ParticipantIt’s official, The first class to sell out for the 15th SuperNationals at the Rio Hotel in Vegas this November is….insert drum roll here…”TaG Cadet”.
42 paid entries as of last weekend, and the wait list has been started.Don’t get caught with your drawers down and register as soon as you can. Take advantage of the SKUSA lay-away plan and at least get your name on the list before it’s too late.
S4, S2, TaG Senior and Tag Masters will be the next classes to max out.
We are looking forward to the SummerNationals in just a few days. Congratulations to the Cook Family and staff for getting their facility looking like a World Class Track.

Thanks, and best of luck to all the CO Karters racing over the next two weekends. Race hard and bring home the hardware!

Does this position require a Union card?

Could you sell the car to the highest-bidding buyer…. and donate the funds to a deserving young karter or two??? Or, ask your 10 favorite karting gurus who they’d suggest for getting the funds, and give to the most-commonly chosen kid? I’ll bet there’s some young guy who everyone likes, someone with potential, but poor compared to others they’re beating. That would be wonderful. Thanks and Respects to Mike M. for donating the car to begin with!!! (if I’ve heard correctly)
Eric,
All wonderful ideas, and great thoughts. Yes I would like to sign the title over to someone in the CO Karting community. I have several families in mind who have supported SKUSA and have great young drivers who deserve this car. The reality of producing a kart race in CO, as a non track owner, has many more down sides than up however. I have not gone to one company or person asking for sponsorship money due to the economy, and do not plan on asking. Selling this car for the asking price is only a drop in the bucket of what it takes to promote quality racing. The entry fees are high enough but no way cover the cost of producing 4 races that include hotels, flights, trophy cups, first rate crew, insurance, track fees, safety crews, food, water, and all the other overhead associated with kart racing. Selling this car is a business decision as much as we would like to give it away. I am always open to ideas and solutions, but unfortunately the bills are stacking up and we have not even had round 1&2 yet.
Thanks,
CurtCurt Kistler
ParticipantThe original entry form has been replaced with the revised form. We had some issues with the upload and cc information area. Please open my original post and print out the form that is attached now. I appologize for the problem, it’s all my fault. I will also attached the revised form here.
On another note, we have entries from CA, AZ, UT and of course CO. This regional race should be an excellent way to get your stuff together before the Summernats. After spending the day there yesterday, it became apparent that GJMS is not an easy set-up to find your game. We chased gears, jets, chassis, air, pavement and other variables to finally put down some very impressive lap times. It also brought back some very fond memories as to why GJMS is one of the best tracks we have ever raced at.
Thanks,

Nice shirt.A
The shirt is worth 3/10ths. Got a red one just like it from a real karting champion at this series called Gatorz. Ever hear of it?
@Rick Schmidt wrote:
I think he has a booger on his pinky (you have to look close) better not wipe it on that FTK shirt!
It’s not a booger Boobie, it’s all I need to take Deason down. One little finger.

Solid Colorado Karting Citizen?
When did I say I was coming out of retirement? 😆
Get your camera dusted off Eric. There will be plenty of Kodak moments at both events.
Curt Kistler
ParticipantThe rig is full and rolling on Wednesday. Thanks to all that called to inquire. If there is any interest for next week, please get in touch with me soon.
Registration is going well for the Regional races in GJ coming up at the end of this month. Don’t forget to book your rooms fast. Country Jam is making quality rooms difficult to find. The Clarion and the Grand Vista are home for most karters making their way over.
We just landed a solid Colorado Karting Citizen, and a Utah Legend to come out of retirement and join our crew for the June and July races as well. Stand by for news….. ❓
Curt Kistler
ParticipantI showed up for the “Open Class” yesterday and could not find anyone to play with so I wrenched on a couple karts that just so happened to qualify on the front row of TAG Sr.
Come on Deason, you want some of this?????- AuthorPosts
