ParticipantI have a suggestion that may work for the rest of the season. If you suspect a competitor is using hot fuel we will have spec fuel available for protest use. Put a protest in writing to the race official and we drain their tank and they run the spec fuel for the rest of the day. You could use their oil in a known fuel.

ParticipantShort of having a spectrum anaylizer available at the track, the only reliable way to stop fuel cheating is to spec the fuel and oil to one type for 2-stroke and one for four-stroke. The water test will find alky in gas but not oxidizers. The fuel meter will only do a comparision. I did go to a race where all of the racers had to bring their jug to the line with thier tank empty and the fuel man would fill your tank with one of the other racers gas. In dirt they pump around, all of the alky is pumped into a large tank and you are refilled at the line.

ParticipantI am only involved with post tech on Sunday, you will have to ask JB.

ParticipantI won’t get a kart national because I can make more on a CSC race and I don’t have to hob nob with the snobs to schmooz a race. Stacey can tell you what you don’t make on a pmt. We are going to hold a AMA Supermoto National race next year which should be huge. I can’t believe the press this scooter race is getting, there were two radio stations that talked to the promoter live yesterday, two newspapers and FOX 31 is coming out today.

ParticipantRich, you should know what the scooters are they are from your vintage, vespas + all of the other well known race bikes.

ParticipantI like Jeffs idea of a jr jr TAG, the jr TAG class we have now is using senior engines with no resricter. There are other engines that could work in that class also 2 and 4 stroke with electric start. We did all agreed at the meeting to not add engines during the season but this would be a good time to evaluate next years classes.

I don’t see CRE listed on the web site as a dealer or a sevice center.

ParticipantI have checked with SSC and they say that KSD is the only authorized service center for Rotax in Colorado at this time. George, when did you go to Palm springs for the required training to become an authorized service center?

ParticipantIMI has those parts in stock.

ParticipantThere is another reason for me not wanting to change the date to the 22nd. I will be in Braga, Portugal from the 18th to the 25th of August working for Biland on engines for the world final that week.

ParticipantIMI is still the exclusive importer and service center for the USA.

ParticipantI certantly would not do it so that I can tear down engines for free. I have been offered this earlier in the year from SSC and have not had the time to go. I have many customers which would like our shop to stock more engine parts and do the service, seals, etc… We have been working on Rotax for a long time for those who don’t care about the seal and we might as well get our certification so that we can work on them all. We also service, sell and stock parts for the Leopard and Biland. The concept of the seal does not bother me if all the engines in the class have them. I have nothing against the Rotax engine and have been selling them for years.

ParticipantI will be going to SSC to be offically certified on the Rotax and will be able to do teardowns for no charge except for parts, which will be less than the $50 put up to tear down an engine. It is not fair to the other racers with other engines not to be able to have tech done on the Rotax. This policy is only making the class divided and there will always be distrust. I do not trust the seal system because it involves people who have their own greedy motivations. It is real easy to cherry pick Rotax parts that would make one engine run better than the others but still pass the certification standards. I think the real problem is the weights for the Rotax are to low. If Greg are Dane can run a 54 with a Sonic, Lepoard, Biland etc.. at the weights those engines have to run then the weights are correct. Looking at the dyno charts I do not see why a Rotax gets up to a 30 lb break. I only see Rotax drivers responding to this thread am I am sure you are all very happy with the weight break. It is important to make everyone in this class satisfied with the rules and the weights or it will just turn into a Rotax class.
