ParticipantIMI’s Kart track will be closed for the Scooter nationals this Friday only. Sportique Scooters of Denver is renting the track for that day. There will be a practice day on Thursday for Scooters but the track will be open to karts and bikes. No I am not kidding! We will be open after they are done about 5:30pm-6:00pm I hope.

InactiveHey Blink,
Scooters, what the heck are those? Do they have rotax or biland scooters? Are they the 2 wheelers that roar around the paddock on race days that are not suppose to?

Hey Rich,
I heard somewhere that the FR125 you run was originally designed as a scooter motor. Aprilla made it and Rotax took it over.

InactiveBlink,
I saw two articles on the Scooter Championships at IMI in the Boulder Camera and The Times CAll.
Interesting, but looks dangerous going 50-100 mph in those things.
Good to see you got the nationals held here, now bring some kart national races to IMI.
When I was at the Rotax Nationals last yr at Denton, that track looked mmore dangerous than IMI with little space between track lanes and close proximity to fences.
Chaz-back in the early centuries when I was racing the old lawn mower engines were more stable than the Vespas. See you at Action in a couple of weeks.

ParticipantI won’t get a kart national because I can make more on a CSC race and I don’t have to hob nob with the snobs to schmooz a race. Stacey can tell you what you don’t make on a pmt. We are going to hold a AMA Supermoto National race next year which should be huge. I can’t believe the press this scooter race is getting, there were two radio stations that talked to the promoter live yesterday, two newspapers and FOX 31 is coming out today.

InactiveI was out there on Thursday for practice.
Those scooters are “interesting” :idn:
They seem to make more noise than anything. To each his own, I guess…
