ParticipantCraig,
I always carry ALL of the high mortality parts for the FR125 for our Rotax Challenge Series. We are also a certified Rotax service center. I know I am not in the Denver area but I can overnight parts to you by either UPS or the mail service.
I also have a recommended engine service guide that I can send to you at know charge.
You ought to come down and give one of our Challenge events a go!
Take care……….George@CRE

InactiveCraig—Cleaning PV
Pull it out and dismantal the whole thing.
Clean the bellow with soap/water or simple green—-never carb cleaner.
The rest I use carb cleaner on all except the o-ring and cover.
The valve itself I use carb cleaner and steel wool. When putting back in I put light wt oil on the valve
You should clean PV before every race day and some say before every race.

InactiveCleaning the power valve is extremely important and should be done every time off the track. No kidding. If you don’t, you will get bog and slow starts.
1) Make sure you note what side is up for the valve – and don’t forget, right it down!
2) Scrub that valve clean using carb cleaner – it should shine!
3) Clean bellow with some type of rubber cleaner – not harsh chemicals or you will be replacing your bellows all the time.
4) When putting back in, place the valve in the hole (put some hair on it if you need) and then tighten down to full tension. Then attach your bellow and place rubberband type ring around below to hold secure and create tight seal. Once you have it at full tension, it’s square, and the bellows on, start backing it off (loosening nut) until the bellows flow freely – I used wd-40 for my lubrication. Tap it with your finger until it just pops in and out FREE. This ensures that your valve will pop open at appropriate exhaust pressure and roll onto power band.
5) Put black cover with zit back on and whip the Biland, Sonik and leopards arssss!July 22, 2004 at 4:30 pm #47621Brad Linkus
ParticipantI have checked with SSC and they say that KSD is the only authorized service center for Rotax in Colorado at this time. George, when did you go to Palm springs for the required training to become an authorized service center?

ParticipantLooking at the RMaxChallenge site, it also lists Critical Zone- Grand Junction Motor Speedway as a Dealer and Service center.

InactiveI think some people are confused about the Authorized Rotax Dealers and Service Centers in Colorado.
There are only two authorized Rotax Service Centers and Dealers in Colorado. Those two are Critical Zone/Grand Junction and KSD/JFS.
If there is ever a question about dealers and service centers, please check the website = http://www.rmaxchallenge.com/regions/co.htm Let me know if there are any questions!
Thanks!

ParticipantBlink,
Scott Evans visited CRE on June 9th, 2003 and held a tech certification class for myself and Travis Roberts of KSD. I received our Certification of Completion less than 30 days later which was approved by Scott Evans of Karbz Inc, approval #ooo116. CRE’s selection as a service center by KSD was approved by Joe Ramos.
The new alignment of the regional distributors to the dealer direct network did not negate existing dealership or service center agreements, at least thats what I was told by Joe Ramos.July 22, 2004 at 7:39 pm #47626Brad Linkus
ParticipantGeorge
I don’t see CRE listed on the web site as a dealer or a sevice center.

ParticipantI talked with SSC today. They told me there are two certified technicians in the state certified to re-seal Rotax engines. One is Stacey Cook, the other is Travis Roberts. They assured me these are the only two guys certified in the state of Colorado to put seals on Rotax engines.

ParticipantDennis,
If I understand the way you are explaining the valve assembly, I believe you will be losing power on your motor.
Also, the valve only needs to be disassembled every 3 races or so, doing it more often means you have to adjust it on a more regular basis to get your opening point correct. - AuthorPosts
