ParticipantStacey,
It is good to see you can joke and smile! I don’t know how many of the Front Range racers would be smiling if we told them they had to drive over the mountain yet again, and in the middle of December to boot! Not sure if there is anything to be done for future years… but we are sure glad that you, your family, and your local racers, all make the extra effort for us!!Angie

ParticipantMikey,
The Front Range Series (TTAC/IMI) will have a seperate set of awards – including special awards. Last year, at the banquet, we did the CSC awards, then the IMI awards, and we even made an announcement and an intermission for those in the CSC that didn’t want to hang around for the rest. I thought that was the fair thing to do. I believe the same should happen this year if the club series does indeed piggyback on the CSC banquet.Angie MacEwen

ParticipantI got so fed up with trying to reach tech support, that I am changing providers for my web hosting .. I have most everything uploaded on the new site; however have to wait for the name to switch over so it points to the right server. Sorry for the inconvenience. Let me know if you are looking for something specific, I will put it up here.
Thanks for your patience.

ParticipantThis is such a tragic event. I can’t even begin to imagine what a parent goes through when something like this happens. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick’s family and friends. I have sent this on to many people, and know that every one will be touched by it. Hopefully many young drivers will get to read it, too, and realize what a huge responsibility a driver’s license is.
I am very thankful that we live out in the country, and back off the road, where the kids can run and play outside without that worry.Thank you for sharing this with us, Scott.

ParticipantSammy’s times are accurate. Grant’s times are not. His transponder wasn’t working at all, and I was scoring him. Sometimes I get them every time they go by, and other times I have to go back and insert a lap. Sorry for the mix up.

ParticipantPoints have been updated, too. I have included the drops. Even though there are a couple of more races, you can get the idea.

ParticipantJust talked to Dennis – he’s on the phone now with Ken.
He is home now, still in pain, but on the mend. I guess he found out today that he also has a seperated shoulder… just one more thing to deal with. He said he still has to sleep sitting up due to the broken ribs, but the pins in his wrist seem to bother him the most. Might be another couple of weeks before those come out.
He has checked out the forum and wanted to relay his appreciation for all of the well wishes he got on here, as well as all of the cards, phone calls, emails, etc. I am sure he will be looking here again, so go ahead and post your messages to him!
And here’s a little warning for you all. Dennis is going to give our CSC Finale Tech Director (whoever that may be) a run down on what, and who, to watch out for!
Angie
p.s.
Dennis — It was great to talk to you, and so good to hear that you are home and on the mend. My family thinks the world of you, and hope you will call if there is anything at all we can do for you and Sandy!

ParticipantI started something like that a long time ago, and never finished it. I will see what I can do to complete a ” Track Records” page on the site!

7) The single most inspiring person I met was a racer by the name of Eric Lazar. By himself he drove 19 hours straight to make the race only to show up at George’s doorstep at CRE (oops wrong track gotta get ONSTAR or GPS!) He got to Centennial having never driven here the day of qualifying and heat races and finished. When I asked him what was wrong with the kart he said “a lot of things but my goal was to finish, had I had more time to prepare the kart and practice I’d have done much better.” He had the biggest smile on his face each and every time he got out of the kart. Oh did I tell you that his goal is to make it to the next Grand National race and improve his results? All this from a guy who’s paralyzed from a motocross accident and has to strap his legs in so they don’t spasm and hit his hand controlled brake and gas lever. Kudos to George at CRE for pointing him in the right direction and to let him pit under your tent. George, you have my respect with such a simple gesture. I wish you all could have met and talked to this gentlemen. What an inspiration.

ParticipantRick,
Dennis called me Saturday morning while he was still medicated enough to want to talk. He has something like 22 screws in his arms. One is plated down to the thumb, the other up to the elbow. Has a broken neck, of which he said it only bothers him when he has the sling for his arms around it. He is in Salt Lake at a rehabilitation center, and will move to one in Denver some time this week. I will try to find out which one, so we can send him well wishes. He said he had 99 saved messages on his machine at work, and his family got him an ear piece for his phone.
As for the wreck, he just said that all systems were good… wind, equipment, etc. was looking good, then something went wrong. He said he didn’t remember much, but it was beginning to come back a little at a time. That’s all I know for now, I will let you know if I find out more.

ParticipantDon, as for the reason the Mini Max results are not up… I don’t know, I am trying to find out, too. There was a protest over the double white, but can’t imagine that would change anything. It was a major mistake on the officials side, and I was a part of it, and for that I am sorry. But, you must always race to the checkered flag. The race was scheduled to be 16 laps, and to cut it by one lap because the flags were thrown early would not be acceptable.
Congrats to Conner, for sure, for doing an awesome job through the entire event. And, of course, to the many other CO drivers that participated and percervered throughout.
Cole missed out on the Final after being involved in the prefinal pileup. He is OK, very sore thumb, bruised and banged, tire mark across his helmet, but is ready to race again. The kart is pretty banged up, too. Maybe it could have been fixed up so that he could start in the back of the Final, but we didn’t. Can’t change that now, and we couldn’t be prouder of Cole than we are.
He qualified 16th out of the 34 drivers, which made him the highest qualifying Colorado Mini Max driver. Of course, Conner had some bad luck there, as did Colby Meek. Brandon Moore qualified 22nd, Austin Schimmel 25th, and Ryan Rudolph 30th, putting him in the LCQ.
In the heats, Cole had a 7th, a 5th, and a 4th, which put him starting the Prefinal in 8th position. Unfortunately the pile up in the first lap of the prefinal was the end of this Grands for us. But what an experience! I worked in Parc Ferme on Monday and Tuesday, then in scoring for the remaining four days. It is interesting to be on the inside of such a big event. I sure would like to thank all of those CO guys who stepped in to work, too!
