Motorhomes are welcome, yes you will need a second pit spot. Just keep in mind that we need to fit everyone in, so be kind! If you have an unusually large motorhome and/or trailer, let us know so that we can make sure that we have enough spaces in the right places.

I was out at the Mini Grand Prix today, scoring the charity event. Great fun for all. After the event I even drove a kart for the very first time!! Jim’s new rentals are terrific, and the track is so fun.

For those of you planning on racing in next Friday’s exhibition event…. You are going to have fun putting on a show for the spectators. Jim has done an amazing job putting this scaled down version of the “big Grand Prix track” all together. I would encourage you all to go out and get a preview of the track in a rental sometime this week! (discount coupon in the new The Colorado Karter newsletter!)

    Qualifying ? each class 10 minutes 9:30 to 11:30
    (some classes may be combined)

How the classes are combined will be determined on Sunday by the numbers, and announced at the drivers meeting. Usually they try to qualify in the same groups that would race. In other words, you will have to wait and see!!

Ok, below are links to the entry form for the Steamboat Springs Grand Prix. This is round 7 , the finale event of the 2004 Colorado Sprint Championships. Everyone is welcome to attend. It does not matter if you have raced in the series this year or not.

The entry fee has gone up from last year, but before you have a fit, look at the details. Your $85 entry covers both Saturday and Sunday track time and drivers’ pit passes. At any other track you would pay $55 entry for Sunday, plus $20-$30 for Saturday track time. Also there will NOT be a transponder rental fee. An increase was required to cover increases in the other costs involved in setting up this event.

This will be a two day event. Saturday will be full of morning practices and afternoon qualifying. Sunday will begin with warm up sessions and straight to the heat races. Again we will be working with a very strict 8am to 5pm time line with no motors before 8 or after 5.

    AIRBOXES are required.

Space is limited, like last year, so please keep that in mind when planning. The area along the east side (back stretch) will be opened up for additional parking, but it won’t add much and space is tight. Big trailers in the front, smaller ones in the back, and overflow down the east side.

They cannot process Credit Cards for pre registration OR for on site registration – so please be prepared with cash or check.

in response to the Tag Junior question – you are welcome to come race! I just spoke with Jim and he said that all of the CSC classes could be accomodated. The Tags will likely all run together, which is often the norm at the tracks anyway. Remember, this is an exhibition event, an opportunity to expose a bunch of people to some great kart racing action. Jim has been extremely busy getting everything ready to go – I am sure he will be posting directions and such very soon.

    Marc,
Come over to Bandimere on this Sunday, August 8, for the Colorado Sprint Championship race. It would give you a chance to meet some karters. Roam the pits, lend them a hand and chat a bit, I bet you can find someone to schedule some practices with. Besides, it should be some good racing to watch!
