Angie, if the motor did not have a seal then it is open game and Dennis was justified and had every right to tear it down.. the only bad thing is that Zack works so hard with very little that every dime counts and it could mean that he might not make the next event.. But I guess that could be true for everyone.. It is good to see him up front..
Jay, so glad to hear the kids are ok, as a parent it is so scary when your kids are hurt, it is hard to keep calm.. Darren is really good in those situations and is also great with the kids.. see you at the next race..
We had know idea that Zack was torn down.. He is a great kid that works really hard and makes it all work on a very very small budget.. Zack if you will send your motor GJMS I will re-seal it for free and get it right back to you.. Any motor that we seal we would be happy to help Dennis and re-seal them after he is done.. I still think if a motor has a seal on it that should mean it is legal.. As a Rotax service center it would be crazy and very imbarrassing to have one of our motors found illegal and it would just be flat out wrong!!! Don’t we all do this for FUN? a little plastic trophy is not worth it…
Joe brings up a good point, The seal should be good enough and if it isn’t then someone should help with the cost of resealing it. I have rebuilt and sealed both of Joe’s motors this year and would stand behind anything that we do. We would offer our time to reseal any motor that is certified by us (excluding parts) for free as long as the driver being protested receives the protest fee when found in compliance…
Donal, we are all going to miss you.. good luck in Germany, you will give this Germans grief.. If you ever want to come back for an event at GJMS I am sure I could come up with a kart for you to use.. Good Luck..
