InactiveDoes anybody know where to find a clutch for a 125 rotax. The pin broke on mine.(The one that goes into the drum.)
I called a place in vegas, but they wanted 400.00 for a new clutch. Is that the going rate for a new clutch? If so, could I get a used one anywhere? Could anyone help me out? Does Denver have a authorized dealer?July 19, 2005 at 3:46 am #51235cgordon
ParticipantJohn Schmidt (303)679-0300 at JFS Racing is a certified Rotax dealer in Lakewood. Mile High Karting in Thornton (I think) is another dealer. George at CRE and Stacey at GJMS are also certified Rotax dealers.
I think you’re stuck buying the whole shebang. I don’t think Rotax sells the clutch and flywheel separately. 😥

ParticipantBTW, that price is about what I’ve heard it costs. Also, there is a clutch cover plate available now for about $6 that fits over the pins and is supposed to make the pins last longer by preventing them from flexing.

ParticipantCharles is right, $400 is the going price, you do have to buy the whole clutch and there isn’t a legal fix. The plate sort of works but many are still breaking pins. Most of the guys breaking pins are masters, not internationals. Most of suspect wieght is the culprit.
We will be having a replacement pin avaiable soon but it will not be legal for either Tag or RMax. But it will give you a clutch you can use on practice days or at club races who don’t care that you replaced the pin.

InactiveMaybe things have changed since I owned a rotax, but I have purchased every rotax clutch part there is to buy, and all of them I was able to get separately at IMI. Ask BOBBY if you can dig through their boxes of rotax stuff. Shoes, drums,I’ve even bought a flywheel there. A.J.

InactiveHello Andy,
Nice hearing from you on The Colorado karter site.
My CRG-Kali kart is great. Last yr I never saw a CRG out hear, Now I think there are about 10.
Doesn’t look like I will make the Nationals this year. I had a great time in 2003 and 2004. The cost for me is ~$1,600-just too much. The 2-full day drive to South Bend is a long haul for just me. 😥
Got any scholarships available for a 58 yr old–Ha Ha!
Take care
