ParticipantLooks like Scooter has a little abnormal wear on the left front. And are those motorcycle hand grips on the rear feet?
Rick Schmidt
ParticipantTentative for next Monday, think Brad is still working out details making sure their approach is going to be the best racing surface long term.

ParticipantIn all of this I have to say.
The Mg is the best, most consistent tire we’ve ever run. It has great longevity and grip. Every manufaturing proccess is subject to tolerances. We had a questionable batch in Utah, we were given new tires. They are standing behind their product here too with offering replacements.
After meeting the importer at the Super Nationals last year, what a great guy who loves and supports what we do.
Still the best tire and as Barry said, it seems to be brought to the surface by newer race track asphalt.

ParticipantMikey,
If you read his post well. It says “ball” meaning only one. Somekind of medical anomally?
Or maybe it was the old. “I’d give my left n_t” to be able to race karts?
Anyway. Sounds he only has one!

ParticipantJeff,
One of Matts tires blistered and it was diagonal across the face of the tire and was new at the beginning of the session.
If I didn’t know better, it looked like a worn out old tire to me too.

ParticipantHey,
Where is the Genie?

PostPosted: Yes Saturday Night we are going to have movie night for all the kids. ( Big kids to Rick) so bring your blankets and pillows .. Popcorn, drinks and candy will be provided…We are thinking 5:00 sharp so they can get to the motels and get some sleep for Sunday….How does the time sound to everyone?Well… 5:00 is a little later than I usually start a feature length movie… Oh, you’re probably not talking to me are you?
What a cool idea! I remember when I was a kid. We’d go to the drive in and my folks would send me to the play ground to play before the movies started (wonder what they were doing?) And I’d play till the movie started, then they would stick me on the roof of the car with a blanket and pillow to watch the movie (hey, wonder what they were doing?) and I’d fall asleep there with my little sister. My Dad was pretty smart, I guess.
Anyway. Neat thing for the kids to do.

Lucy has my footed jammies packed.

ParticipantMatt Kistler,
You’re one hell of a driver! You did an excellent job of “waiting for it” to turn in. Especially impressive is the need to put your hand on the bottom of the wheel to force it to turn. Way to hang on buddy. And this video is heavily shortened. You’re my hero.
Curt, you make a future comment about his driving from the fence I’m reminding you of this.
Hopefully, as mentioned in this post, it’s a one off deal that won;t be a factor again.
Hats off to all the others who had this condition and made it to the end!
Barry, thats awesome of Mg. I met the importer in Vegas last year. What a good man! True supporters of the sport, not just out to cash in on us.

ParticipantDale Kistler Collins too. Good luck boys!!!

ParticipantWhatever it was. It’s pretty scarry sending your driver out there knowing he’ll be running 80 Mph on a carcuss of a tire.
Here’s Matt Kistler hanging on!

Looked like the kart was working well till…

ParticipantSorry for the poor quality. As Roman points out, I had the wrong settings on the camera. But… I did it all by myself!
AND, I’m bringing my jammies and popcorn to the movie “Cars” you’re showing in the showroom at the season finally! What a cool thing to offer to the kids! (of all sizes) Anthony and Mario, better not let your blankie touch my blankie!
Rick Schmidt
ParticipantIf you like seeing karts on the street, there are so many good examples. I did not know this was your friend and hate to be too harsh but stand back and look at the big picture.

ParticipantAnyone have information on Dennis? I am wondering how he is doing and if he needs anything from the Colorado racing community. I’ll even mow your yard if you need me to. (my wife is sitting here on the edge of my easy chair saying “he doesn’t even know what that means!) I will!
Dennis or someone, plz give an update and let us know how he’s doing or if we can help. Biz, personal or whatever.
We’ll miss you Dennis. Just look at this like a military career. You are pretty smart and pretty tough. There has to be a smooth way through this.
Maybe we can compare motor skills some day, over a cool one!

PostPosted: Mon 08 27, 2007 7:08 pm Post subject: AWESOME karting Video
http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=16791125Check this video Out!!!
This is Nate (sorry Forgot your last name man Embarassed ) driving his shifter to the grocery store.Tony,
If I ever catch Roman pulling some kind of crap like that, he’ll never drive a race machine supported by me again. I did some stupid stuff when I was a kid. This is just stupid to go on city streets with your kart. It is one of the reasons I supported my kids to race. Get it off of the streets! Even if you don’t hurt yourself, hurting someone else would be a horrible thing to have to live with. After all, who is expecting a kart at an intersection etc.. Have you stuck a motor that locks up the rear wheels on your kart? I have. If that were to happen, do you think the chase car (what 3500 lbs) following, is going to stop before the (385lb) kart? Think they will keep the camera rolling while trying to get their buddy out from under the car? What do you do? Grab the bumper jack? Not so cool anymore, Huh? I had a friend hit a dog on a motorcycle and it damn near killed him, pretty sure tangling with a kart wouldn’t be any better.
Maybe I am just getting old but. Look at the problems Grand Junction has had with the neighbors across the highway! Organized racing gives kids like you a place to go and do something constructive. Wonder if those same people would rather you were stealing their car stereo or retaliating by shooting at someone from a moving car in their neighborhood or, how bout supporting a drug habit by theft. You need to project the good things this sport can do and be an example of those things. Versus making what we do outlaw. Those same neighbors need to see the good our sport does instead of BS like this. So many work to legitimize our passion. Probably not going to be a huge spectator sport and that’s o.k. It is still a legitimate sport that spawns most of the top drivers in the world. And some very long lasting memories and friendships if nothing else.
No Tony. This kind of stuff does not do kart racing any good. Sure it’s cool to watch the Kart Vader video totally give our sport a black eye, wouldn’t have been so cool if he stuffed it under a car or under a guard rail. Running from the cops hammering through neighborhoods at night. Not Cool! Think you’re a bad a$$? Take it on the track. Someone wants to street race you? Take it on the track Tony. Even if it’s in rentals, send them home crying, not dead. (I’ll pay for the rentals if I have too) We loose enough young people these days. Suicide, drugs, gang violence, drinking & driving…. You fill in the blank.
Don’t support this kind of crap! I would much rather see a video of you racing it out with fellow competitors than catch footage of you running down the street in a kart. (I got a helmet cam to bolt onto to you, you can tell your friends this is REALLY cool) It pisses me off when you do a video search on youtube for shifter kart and it has sh-t like this on there as top rated. Come on! It is a serious racing machine intended to use on a closed circuit. Keep that in mind Tony. If I catch you doing something like this Tony, this cripple is going to kick your a$$.
My family occupation has been fixing cars, making them look good and go fast. When I was about your age, we were street racing and I stood there and watched a car go through a pack of my friends. We all got scared and ran. My friend Sam was under the car. It wasn’t awesome or cool anymore! Tony, race on the track. Drive on the track please. Don’t want you to think this sh-t is “awesome” or “Cool” and hear about horrible news because you think this is “awesome” or “cool”…. You see this kinda stuff. Tell your friends “thats not cool”, “you should see what I do at the track”
O.K. Buddy?
I apologize to Tony’s parents. He is a good boy! I like him very much. He has a lot of soul and spirit. My purpose is not just another teen lecture, but… I don’t think teens always realize how fine the line between cool and tragedy is.
I didn’t!
Rick
Oh yea Tony. It was Nate Dumb A$$!
