ParticipantFuzzy,
I have a Vampire / Gp-8 package as well as a Rotax / Gp-8. Both are very well sorted racing machines.
Whoever buys these Karts will get great support and I’ll give you any information I can to help you run up front as well. Both have been capable of running up front against some stiff competition. Vampire won the State Championship and finished second at the Tag Worlds as well as setting the weekends fast time in class. With many race wins this year. The Vampire is available now. It just got it’s first timing chain adjustment and valve lash adjustment and is a total kick in th a$$ to drive. Engine has 2 races.
The Rotax package qualified in the top 10 and won heat 3 at the Rotax Grand Nationals (b4 finding us a 1/2 mm to wide in the rear). This machine also sat on pole for the Tag Worlds in the Masters final. As well as winning the Colorado Rotax Cahmpionship Series. It will be available after the Supernationals in Vegas (mid november) with a fresh top end before the Nationals and a season lod bottom. It was a very strong package out of the box, running with some very potent engines that seemed to be getting special attention between every session at the Grand Nationals.
Both are loaded with Mychron golds with track mapping. And can be purchased ready to sit on the track and win.
Plus, just a bunch of stuff I have accumulated along the way.

ParticipantWell there goes the neighborhood Dan!
Just kidding. Looking forward to it! 😉

ParticipantHow many entries in 4 stroke Larry?
Glad everyone is o.k. There will be several big piles of parts at the end of the weekend. Chassis good? Well supported? Is the rep walking around after track sessions licking his lips and taking orders? Lol!
Try to take it all in and enjoy the experience guys.

ParticipantCome on and have some fun Greg. Run with 20 some racers!
I can offer you a couple of different packages to sample if you like. And of course anything Roman or I could offer to get you up to speed if needed, would be available.
You’ll no doubt be a front runner in no time.

ParticipantSavor it now Larry. It will flash by before your eyes.
You think they go through motors there? Wait till you see the pile of bent / damaged parts after the weekend is over. Hopefully your guys pile is a small one.
Oh yea. Don’t look directly into the “pool area”. And whatever you do… don’t take pictures of the “pool area” But if you want to see your driver on the upper circuit…it may be an evil you’re going to have to deal with.
Does that place look wicked at night? Or what?
Enjoy and kick a$$ from all back home!

ParticipantI’m in.
Although at the last one, I got in trouble for bringing home more than I left with. So maybe Lucy and Debbie can do a little wine tasting or something, creating the much needed diversion!
Let me know if you need help Curt. I have a lot of stuff that would be very useful to some of the newer guys building up their inventory. And clear out my garage a little.

ParticipantGood question Tony. Someone else asked me if the banquet included the Rotax series and the Club series.
Told them to check with Angie. But let them know Imi / Csc has been combined for the banquet since we can remember. And as far as the Rotax things go, to check with Jim, we haven’t heard much in that way.

ParticipantSame with us guys. We always have a good time racing there.
Also, great to see Rich Vito come out of moth balls and run so well.

ParticipantBrad,
Which of the Tag approved tires are going to be available for testing this weekend.
Thanks, Rick

ParticipantI don’t have sound on my work computer, but it looks awesome. She needs a tuner by the way.

ParticipantIf you want to bring Mike out of retirement, he’ll need… yet another new driving suit!

ParticipantI’m with you. Wait till next year! The 4 Strokes are here to stay.
I used to race Moto Cross back in the day. And I’ve always enjoyed watching it on TV since. When the 4 Strokes started coming in, I thought they were kinda wimpy sounding and never thought they would catch on. Well? They are predominant, and a decade from now karting will see a similar cross over I believe.
There are a lot of people who haven’t had the chance to drive one yet. I would like to cycle every butt we can on Romans kart this fall. It’s done racing after the Worlds and the Supernationals is not recognizing the class YET. So, all you Tag Masters / Seniors guys, jump on. It is “Balls Deluxe” It drives similar to a shifter as far as driving style goes. There is no trail braking on these. Turn in, set it, catch it with power (oh it’s there) jack that thing off the corners like your probably not used to yet. Just fun.
I honestly believe the Oral and Biland are going to be great packages as well. It will be cool watching this grow. Rodney (Freezeman) wants to put 2 on a chassis! Whoa! We all like things that scare us. We’d really like that.
Listening to these things at full song, going into a brake zone? It gives me chicken skin. Monaco, with these motors at redline and the sound bouncing off the buildings!!! One of the coolest moments in my racing stints for sure.
As far as having to lift your kart. It’s certainly a by product of your drivers size. Having raced close with the Kistlers for the past several years, I can see what a grind it is, having to lift that 20 some times a day? My karts are light (never added ballast) but the by product I face is trying to overcome a weight penalty, it is self induced a realize. But trying to be competitive at the weights we run can be a challenge.
There is about 15.5 lbs difference in the engines alone. But with components (bigger battery, radiator, water capacity etc..) we ended up 27.5 lbs difference between the two packages.
The ultimate race from a tuner stand point, would be to put all of our drivers on the track with totally identical packages (Iroc?) and let them go at it! I think these 4 strokes are going to be about as close as it gets to that.
Looking forward to some good racing in a few weeks.
Peace – out.

ParticipantA lot of regions already consider the Tag classes as light and heavy vs Senior and Masters. If the Tag senior is 360 lbs., I think 4 Stroke Light should be 375 lbs. and 4 Stroke Heavy should be 425lbs. (Rotax Master is 405 lbs.) The package is quite a bit heavier than the standard Tag engines currently running. That is a 50 lb split!
If the average adult male is around 185 lbs, it would give them a chance too. There are drivers in this class who are coming in over 450 lbs. We were going to race 4 Stroke at the Worlds, split or not, because we are committed to help Brad build this class. But it is a little tough going in knowing you don’t have much of a chance no matter how good your driver is. Not to mention all the related cost of entering and maintaining an entry, knowing your more than likely going to be a “also ran”.
Not sure about having to have 40 entries to make this happen and certainly don’t want to be considered as the person being “accommodated” we’ve been down this road before. If Jesse was coming in 30 some lbs. heavier than Roman, I think he’d have his hands full keeping up with him (man that would be a lot of lead Lol) Look at the affect 20 – 30 or 40 lbs. make to an F1 car or any racing machine, no less a Kart.
Anyway, even if there is only 12 -15 guys in the light class. There will be some great competition with the caliber of drivers going into that class. I know a few of the Super Pro level drivers entering that class have a lot of Tag seat time and are very focused and have been prepping their machines to the highest levels. It may be the race of the weekend. It will be a very good accomplishment to podium in that class.
It will be cool for the drivers who weigh over 185 – 190 lbs to have a chance like that too. I would rather watch 12 Karts engaged in a serious battle than see a runaway with 30 Karts. Thats not much fun.
At 340 lbs. That would be a good Tag 4 Stroke Expert class! If you have a 110 or 120 lb driver :bang

ParticipantTroy Howell
Who is planning on running the Tag World Championships at IMI October 4-7th?
Well Troy. We know your tuner has hair on his a$$, Now if we can get his driver settled down? You can beat anyone on any given day Troy. Last year in Vegas, it was kinda weird for me seeing you guys sitting there as spectators. You guys are racers, go race it out. Next time I’ll haul your junk to the track. Fly in and race. You are racers. No more showing up to watch.
You know, We’re just going to have a good time. If you can’t drive across town for a race of this caliber? It’s the World Finals in a given discipline and is growing in the depth of competitors every year. This is in our back yard. Go and have a good time. Treat it like a 2-3 day Csc race. I think our Colorado boys are pretty damn good. Can they be beat? Maybe. Do they have heart and will they race you hard? Hell yea! Lets see how we stack up and lets help one another to knock off some of the competition. Commit a weekend to this event.
What about the big names showing up? Fu__ing awesome! We’d rather run the best and get beat than to stay home, (remember it’s all of 35 minutes away, or you fill in the blank) go run with these guys, earn respect, have fun. The Cooks, slap on a Leopard or stroker and run em.
Any of our Colorado boys / girls. You should race. After the weekends over, you’ll be glad you did. To me. It’s us against the world when the driver flips the visor down. Every other moment of the weekend. It’s the friends we have here and the new ones we’ll meet that make up the memories. Lets all go and show what Colorado has to offer.
We are going to run Tag Masters and Tag 4stroke. In Tag Masters, we think we have a chance to win, but it means more to have fun. Tag 4 stroke, we’re 35 lbs over min weight. If they don’t split, we’re gonna beat a few tiny ass drivers and call it a success. Our goal is to have fun. When we do that we get decent results. When we get too serious, we’ll we find ourselves 1/2mm too wide. Lol
If every Colorado racer that has enough experience to race without being unsafe isn’t there. It’s a missed opportunity for you.
Just go out and have fun. It’s a bad ass race, Bad ass track and some bad ass fun to be had.
To answer your question Troy.
Roman is going to run Tag Masters and Tag 4-stroke.
See you there.
