    Perry,

    Read this thread…

Then go back and read it again.

Some of the best in the country giving some interesting information on these motors. What do you think? How does this compare with what you’ve been running? And what you may be running in the future? No slouches on this thread! Giving us some enlightening and straight information?

Ricky dude, what happpens when all those containers of 10 years old parts dwindle away. Honda isn’t keep making the old stuff for every ❓

Looks like those containers are going to dwindle pretty damn slowly. Doesn’t it? Get 1600 – 3000 miles out of your previous package?

Mid 2006 threw 2007 and on to 2008 with the same bottom end bearings. RLV pipe only accept for the RCE @ the USKGP one month ago. Lots of road race miles, probably 3 pistons total in that time just because. Love the package.

Ever heard of this guy? He is the “Alan Rudolf, Gary Carlton, Alex Speed” of road racing. Looks like has run his motor for a bit, doesn’t it? And is getting ready to start a new season on the same bottom end and feeling pretty comfortable about it. Hum… Pretty sure he could go through his bottom end every ten gallons of fuel (2-3 weekends or whenever he wants) if he felt it necessary and he could probably get someone else to pay for it.

    Hum…

I pushed a Rotax that far once, it made it and I was scared to death! Pretty amazing huh?

You may save enough to add some “performance enhancing” items to that Camaro with the money you’ll save. That never gets you in trouble, does it?

This was beat to death a fews years back on the Ekn forums. The crisis was; this new class that was supposed to be affordable, equal and good performance but parts were obsolete and unavailable. Turns out the supply chain was bolstered.

If you’re worried about what to do with your spec honda in a few years. Do the same thing you did with your Tm. Sell it.

Again, I’m not trying to take anything away from the other classes. Just trying to look down the road a little ways. And get the shifter racing back to a kck a$$ status. I would like to see the pits empty out to watch the gear grabbers run. It can happen.

My goal this year is to put a significant effort towards making the Csc rock and helping wherever I can. I’ll throw my body at it for a year, and if helps, great! If not, I tried. And good tight racing with reasonable fields are a needed component.

I’ve been getting quite a few pm’s and phone calls?

    What do you guys think?

Any of you racers want to compete in a class where your driving skill makes the difference and the motor does not need to be touched for long periods? Where there is enough entry’s to make a win feel something significant?

    Or…?

Run your “drilled, corked, tweaked, high tech reeded, leaned on mill to the front of a hand full (maybe) of entry’s…

Don’t you usually spend that kind of money to beat a large field of racers spending that kind of money too…? on a National level? Where they are spending big amounts of money as well. What happened to our sizable fields???

No need. Spec heavy is one of the hottest contested National Classes!

Want to throw them in a trailer and take in a road race somewhere? Your Spec Moto fits rather well there too. Lets go get the major pucker factor turning in at 70 mph gets you! You got em?

Or, maybe I should ask. Who wants to come kick Romans a$$ next year?

Jack, think you got it in you? (tiller hand getting a little soft?) Doc? You’re pretty fast… Aren’t you? Aaron, bring that cute little kart out there and lets give em a show. The sleeper out of this whole thing may be Craig Neff! Following you guys around with his built Moto. Really didn’t stand a chance against your built Icc’s! Lets see what happens now!

I understand Icc’s are a good buy right now (used!) but lets look at this moving forward. We took a class that was “the one to watch” and whittled it down to a hand full of karts at best. How bout some of that blood and guts racing we owe to ourselves?

Come on Cunningham! One of these Hondas can even haul your (new found) skinny a$$ around pretty good.

    Perry, you gone soft too?

    Questions?

    Greg,

Maybe that was you in Spec Moto at the Shootout? I still have the footage of your unfortunate, shortened race, with Romans helmet cam on. Didn’t figure you wanted it, but if you do.I have it. Was a killer 2 laps. Just not the outcome you wanted for sure.

    Are the numbers reversed too?

It is a pretty cool video.

There is also footage of the 2006 Supernationals (toward the beginning @ 1:23) where Keesling passes Roman gets a little wide on exit and Roman re passes, as Jim hits the barriers. It looks cool frame by frame. I think Jim thought Roman may have contacted him at first but tossed it into a slide to miss him. What’s really cool is the perspective of helmet cam of the same thing.

    Kinda getting the bug again!

2 classes Ken? You gluton for punishment!!!

You’ll love it. A little frantic, but fun. Also Nochole will progress extremely fast, jumping from Tag to Shifter really develops driving skills!

    Thank you Kirk,

Stacey, Are there any guys over there willing to step into a Spec Moto? I know there are a few guys who did not run G1 last year that have been perennial contenders in that class. The Davis boys, Walker, Cunningham. Or You and Adcock? Any others?

I’ve seen you guys selling some your Icc stuff. Are many running them over on the west slope?

What a bright family. I enjoyed it as well.

It is real encouraging to see so many unfamiliar faces this year too. Many more than last year. Hopefully this is an indicator of the amount of new blood coming in to the sport.

    Good work Shockwave.

I’m on the phone with Bob.

He is a very sick man right now, that’s for sure!

But wanted me to assure everyone he’ll be back. And thanks all the well wishers.

He really is a good man and has spent the holidays in the hospital which is very hard on anyone. My heart also goes out to Sue for taking care of her sick husband. A really hard thing to do. Holidays or not.
