It was very obvious yesterday, standing at Shockwave, that there are an awful lot of new faces getting into karting. I am sure that many of you will be planning on running in the 2008 CSC Series, or at least I hope everyone is planning on running within the series. To those of you who just plan on club racing in 2008, I would like to offer you the oportunity to bcome involved in one of the many CSC race day positions. This would give you, or your driver, an opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes, and obtain some knowledge of what will be exected of you when you step up to this level of racing. There are many positions available, some paid, some volunteer spots and a couple of official positions are still open at this time. If this sounds interesting to you, and you can commit your time to a worthy cause, I challenge you to step up and help the organization out. You will be thankful you spent your spare time this way.
For those of you who are planning on competing in the 2008 CSC series, newbies or veterans, I would like to host a 2008 Rules and competition day seminar. This willl be designed to go over the entire 2008 rule book, discuss what you will need to expect at the 3 different track locations, and go over how the typical race weekend will be ran. It is extremely important to me, and my new position, that we have no late surprises and that we all make an attempt to eliminate as much confusion as possible. Some of my main goals for this year will be to increase the: fun factor, safety, tech, seat time, competition level, sponsorship awards, press releases and overall group involvment within the entire organization. I will not be able to do this on my own, and I am not even going to try to be a one man show. But I do feel by planning a get together soon will be a giant first step in the right direction.
I will be posting some available dates if this is something you all feel is needed. So please let me know and we will go from there. I can be contacted at the following links:

Would it be possible to have one or more of these dates fall on a Saturday afternoon/evening as many folks might live outside of Denver? I would like to attend but due to my travel schedule, could not make a weekday meeting. Thanks

I’m all in so just let me know what’s needed and I’ll do what I can (as long as I don’t have to lift much.) I’ll be home the month of January re-coup-in. :jump
Thanks

One question, is this something I should bring my drivers to? They are 6, 8, and 11 years old.

I would imagine that the more your young drivers are around racers, information and just getting used to discussing rules and race day requirements, the better off they are. Hopefully we can find a facility that can host a fairly large group and the more the merrier.

How long is that excuse going to hold up :idn:

Suggestion: If a decent amount of Kids show-up, have a kid orienteted racer meeting aside from the “Big one”. Discuss flags, procedures, proper racing etiquette, etc…

I think that the idea of a rules meeting is great. The sooner the better. As part of a new team, it is going to be very helpful to know what is needed
for our initial setup with equipment, driver apparel, etc. to comply with all rules for both club and CSC races. Thanks, Mike
