Lessons learned Sunday:
-Like I’ve said many times before, you can’t be at 100% when your tires aren’t at temperature. Or you’ll go off in the Jansen Curve. Ian got a spectacular view! Then you have to start from the very back and race to the front (that, was a lot of fun) 8)
-When people with experience tell you something listen to them! I guess even if a rotor looks good doesn’t mean it is good. Next time I’ll get a cork so when Rick tells me something it doesn’t go in one ear and out the other. Or get used to cheering from the infield!
-Rick’s right in another post; getting by people with different tires and engine packages was a challenge.
-I had a very fast kart, I blew it, lessons (hopefully) learned
-That 16:1 blend of castor would have been a nice perfume for locals and the guys from Cali to inhale… :idn:Mike Jansen
ParticipantI think we might want to slow down those kid karters…

We had a top 3 kart out there and I’ma workin on mah John Deere sponsorship and anglin’ for a renamin’ of that last corner comin’ down the hill to tha Jansen curve.
We’ll git er done for tha next race and make sure we don’t repeat the problems of sunday agin…

Participantconversation you’ll never hear:
Son/Daughter, I cheated on your behalf so that you could win whether you were a good driver or not. I just couldn’t stand the sight of you losing. Now this will help you in the game of life because you’ll never learn the agony and bitterness of defeat because I’ll always be here for you. You’ll never learn what it takes to be number one in any endeavour because of my actions. And then, when you’re an adult and are constantly being criticized by your boss for your prima donna attitude (or fired) you can blame it on me.What you will hear:
Well, everyone’s cheating so that’s why we’re going to do it….

ParticipantLittle League Dad LIVES! Never did it on his own merits now living through his kids. And this makes the kids what exactly?
:censoredKick em out Brad. You could even publish their names but they:
1) Don’t have any shame so it wouldn’t shame them
2) Never will get itI’m glad you’ve got big enough stones to stick to doing the right thing

ParticipantWhat Ben didn’t tell you is that late entrants have to run around the track BACKWARDS and in a skating leotard. Ben really doesn’t like to promote it but it’s in the rules. Check it out or ask Jim…
Sorry :idn:
let me know when you plan on arriving so Roman can get his video camera for “posterity”Mike Jansen
ParticipantDoug, Jim, et. al:
I think this is a great idea, preparing for a National race and such. My question is this:
Since I’m running a Motori7 and as of now I doubt that we’ll run TaG and Rotax seperate will I have to participate in this rigorous post tech inspection? Can I, as a TaG driver, participate in the Parc Ferme simulations so that I can get experience? I’ve got nothing to hide but I’m just trying to prepare for the weekend.
Also, can we TaG guys register saturday also?
Thanks in advance.Mike Jansen
ParticipantSorry it took so long to get back to your question, I was talking to Danny (Sullivan) about how to do the “spin and win” trick. 😆
Just enjoy the smell of Castor. I’m trying to get hold of Dennis Garwood for some “extra” fragrance to the fuel. Garwood??? Garwood???
This weekend will be a lot of fun and y’all can see how you stack up against national talent. Just remember this: They put their pants on ONE LEG AT A TIME, JUST LIKE WE DO. unless you’re Rick but that’s another story!

ParticipantDon’t quote me on this but I think Jim said in a post that the race will be run in the same direction as the Grands, meaning that it’s going to be run clockwise (downhill)
And if we want to get home in a semi reasonable time I don’t think there’s enough entries to split the TaG classes from the Rotax classes. Speaking for the TaG Masters Class (the class that the spectators love and might be shortly surpassed by the DD2 competition 8) ) I would say that those running the MG yellows vs. y’all rotaxians running the moooojooooooooos won’t have a problem at all. Just follow me, I’ll be the one running the bean oil you’ll be smelling!
I can’t imagine Jim knowing if we’ll be splitting till closer to race time and paid entries.
Keesling???? Keesling??? Bueller??? Bueller??? 😆

ParticipantI’m going to jump in here and point out that the gearing difference is .026.
13/82 = 6.308
12/76= 6.333It appears to me the difference is inconsequential, however the size of the rear sprocket would be noticeably smaller in size.
However, why mess with the specs if that’s what your going to be doing come August… 8)

ParticipantLarry,
I put an extra gerbil in the engine but gave him some beano first. Hopefully it won’t smell that bad. Besides, I love the smell of Castor in the morning!
Tom, with that hard of a sidewall you could probably run them flat and not have it roll or debead… You best get testing. It seems like everyone else is tweaking their setups…
Mike Jansen
ParticipantIf the Mojos are so slow… Then you’ll be behind all the MG shod karts. Just get used to smelling Castor oil in my Motori7… That’ll be number 27 in the racing program and number one in the hearts of the fans! 8) 😆
