Stacey…….Thanks for checking. I’m up for a road trip to Grand Junction to get this done on a week-end if possible, is anyone else interested? It would be nice to have a Comer, Animal, Flat head, World Formula, and a Mini max…I have several fresh Animals and a fresh Flat head that can be used. Stacey did your friend say what he would charge? I think the CSC should pay for his time and not the racers.

    Thanks

Does anyone have access to a dyno here in Colorado? CSC could use one of my new LEGAL (by 2004 standards anyway) animals for a test with any other motor package to help put this to rest once and for all……

I haven’t seen any postings from Brad, JB, or Jim Keesling about there thoughts………What do you guys think? Is it too early to ask for a show of hands to see who running what classes?

    Thanks

I just read Freezeman’s post about the World Formula…….I vote for this to be the new Junior 2 class motor. A $1000.00 sounds alot better than the cost of a rotax.

I’ll bring this back to the top of the list………….I think the Junior 1 class should remain a 4 cycle class. I believe it had more racers at almost every race than most of the other classes, why change something that is working and many have invested lot’s of time and money? The thing that will help that class the most is a tech director…..Not a new motor package!

I do believe some changes should be made in the junior 2 class, weight, motor package ect…….Let’s start talking about it now so we have a plan before the rules meeting.

    Thanks

Jeff………I wasn’t going to mention that, at least it had oil in it right! Mr. New thinks they’re soooo tough that they don’t need oil……Sorry Don

Stacey……….Per the rules there is very little you can do to the animal motor, advance timing, rejet, ect….(See the rules for more details). It will cost about 300.00 to get it to race ready condition and like Don said it will last all year if you change oil and set the valves correctly.

Don………Very well said. I agree that the safety issue is most important, If the minimax is included in the Juinor 1 class we very easily could have 18-20 karts at a CSC race, this in my opion is too many even at IMI. Maybe they do run with the Juinor 2 class and add some weight this would solve both problems.

For those who are thinking about karting, I have nothing but good things to say about the people and families that we have met, and would be glad to share what little I know with anyone………….!

I’m not against the mini max racing with the juinor 1 and scored seperately, I understood that the mini max would be added to the class and eliminate the animals over time just like what happened to the flat heads……

The juinor 2 class has several issues as I see it. One being the weight of 265#. Most 12-15 year old kids will be way over the limit as Sydney is and be closer to 300# with kart, I keep telling here she is not over weight but she doen’t listen……..”I know that’s hard to believe.”

Second is the speed, If the kids come from the juinor 1 class as most due, there going slower. Maybe the motor rules should be opened up to allow a cam or carb change as a stepping stone to the limited mod class.

I watched the mini max this year and as I stated before, it’s not on the same page as the animals with respect to cost or power……… I would like to see it be tested on the dyno and compair it to the animal. We have been in kart racing for 2 years now and had to buy a new engine package each year, that just doesn’t make any sense. If a new engine package is allowed our racing days are over…
