ParticipantInteresting schedule, Jim; thanks for getting it out so early!!
Will there be a serious Rotax series in 2010?

ParticipantEerie to re-read this post and see the discussion of insurance coverage on the last page–right down to a discussion of “flying wheels” and the post from Rich wondering about what insurance coverage includes. What have we learned this year from Rich’s tragedy in this regard? I never thought about it before, but does Gayle know about this possibility?

Participant172 views in a bit over 2 hours–you may be on to something, Rick. Let’s see, a “used tires only” rule, and it could be a inexpensive, fun way to wrap up 2009.

ParticipantMan, that sucks. Did something happen between Monday and Wednesday, or did the crack just pick that time to occur?
Bites when the officials goof in something that big. 😯

ParticipantGood choice, Brad. We’ll be there.

One of the races on Fox (Turkey?) had them spontaneously breaking away to a commercial for a few seconds TWICE IN THE FIRST LAP. They’d also show a commercial instead of the reconnaissance lap, somewhat cutting down on the dramatic tension.
And let’s not forget Fox cutting away to extended home videos of hailstones during the last lap and returning to the race just in time for the checkered flag! 👿 At that point, I decided to boycott the remaining Fox broadcasts and wait for the Speed replays on Tuesdays….

ParticipantI believe the 4-race Fox broadcast series is over, and it’s now back to Speed (5:30 am):

ParticipantMike!! Good to hear from you again! What are you up to these days? Will we see you at the track again this year?

ParticipantThe culvert is gone? Now that’s good news! 😀

Participant$20 for a “Mechanics License”??? Uh, Jim, I get the point of a driver’s license, but what’s up with this?? I’ve never been charged for a mechanics hard card at a national race, where it at least makes sense for limiting access to parc ferme. Does it substitute for a pit pass on race days? If not, it looks like the cost of racing has just gone up again with no apparent benefit for the racer (or the mechanic). I thought the idea was to make racing more affordable, especially in this economy?? :bang

ParticipantThanks, Angie. Hey, what do I know about baling hay–I was born and raised in LA! 😀
