After one day of track testing, we are heading down for one more day with both a shifter and a TaG. The track surface is on most of the old Champ Car track and is very smooth!!!

To help save costs, The Track at Centennial will provide free pit passes for all family members to this race. Spectating is free outside the paddock. Paddock passes will be available at the event. All family members of each driver will have full access to the event.

I would like to thank Performance One Media for joining us as presenting sponsor! We will be filming a complete closed circuit program for all to watch.
In addition, Thanks go out to John Sweeny and Mobile View with the big screen for all of us to watch the action.

Pit spaces and map will be available on Wednesday this week. sponsor spaces are up front, and the rest are on a “first come, first paid” basis. Self contained RV’s are encouraged and welcome. Bring your FM radio for complete announcements. We will have the Track PA system there, however, FM is the best option for all grid calls.

I will have a complete schedule out by the end of the week. Several options are being discussed at this moment. 1) split Shifter class. 2) Split Tag Sr/Jr.

We have officially added Micro Max to the lineup of classes. In addition, I am working with Rotax for help in punches with this group to go to Norman. More to follow…

Lastly, Qualifying MIGHT be Saturday afternoon. Once we get a grasp on entries, I will make the call.

Thanks again for your support, and I can’t wait for Racing the Rockies – Pepsi Center race #3, presented by Performance One Media!!!

We already have several top names entered, so don’t miss out!

    More to follow…

    Jim,

You don’t need to single me out. There are a few others that need recognition too. 8)

Can’t wait, I’ve been looking forward to this one since the winter!

This is really a Big Deal, and all karters owe a debt of gratitude to Jim Keesling — this would have never happened without his efforts and enthusiasm.

I never met him until Friday, and it’s clear what he’s about.

Makes me tempted to jump back into karting……

I sure wish I didn’t have to work that weekend. I would sure love to be there!

I took me kids to Elitch’s the other day and couldn’t stop looking at the Pepsi Center parking lot from the rides, There will be several places that people will be able to see what is going on and hopefully create some interest.

ps. On a different topic, My band “Crimson Sky” is opening for Blue Oyster Cult this Friday July 24th 😀 at the Grizzly Rose, would love to see some fellow Karters there. “More Cowbell”

    Hey Jim,

Who has been testing? Is the track set up in the parking lot? If you need another TAG driver and kart out there for testing, I have an Arrow with a Rotax and an Arrow with a Leopard loaded and ready in my trailer 🙂

Thanks for all the effort in getting this event together!

    Hey Jim,

I assume there is a reason but I can’t help ask. Is it not possible to practice on Friday? Even say Friday after 4pm?

    Tom,
You can ask! The answer is “Bring your A game!!!” Everyone will have Saturday to figure-it-out. And then we will set the grid. Sunday, lets see how well you apply what you learned!

Jim, any idea what security will be like on Friday night? Could I risk dropping my tent over my kart and camp like I normally do? Thanks.

I also assume TTAC will be open for testing on Friday?

    Hello all,
    More updates.

    1) Fuel. Be prepared. You may bring your fuel jug full and mixed to the fuel farm on Friday. You will also have your 5 gallon pail to write your name on. Please bring your own oil and mixing equipment. All karts must be fueled in the fuel farm.

    2) You may pick up your set of tires at The Track starting tomorrow. You do not have to race with these tires. Your race tires need to be MG yellows. If you already have a set and want to mount them up, feel free. We will have a sheet for you to sign that you received your tires with your entry.

    3) Due to the economic times we are in, I am waiving the non-series member fee for this race only. If we have processed your entry, we will credit the funds back, or provide you the same amount at The Track as a credit.

    4) We are getting close on fuel with the number of entries and confirming phone calls. Please fill out the entry form and bring it by The Track ASAP so we can deliver and have your fuel.

    5) We are finalizing the camera crew and TV production of the event. More details to follow.

Once again, I want to thank “you-the racers”, for your support, all of our sponsors and KSE and Pepsi Center for letting us come play in their backyard.

I will have the track built by the end of the day tomorrow, (Wednesday) and we will be ready for move-in on Friday as planned.

We will have overnight security Friday and Saturday 6pm – 6am. We cannot guarantee any safety or security, however, there will be some show of authority.

Sounds like guns to me. I like guns. The more bullets the better. A dead offender is better than a repeat offender.

I best get off hold with Blackberry and get a life. Or get an iPhone…

    Jim,
Is there anyway possible to move the Tag Senior rotation farther apart from the shifters? This would help the drivers get through scales and allow for some hydration between their double duty.

    Any consideration would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Curt
