Like most of you who watched this unfold, there was a trend that was consistent for most of the week that drastically changed over the last couple of days. This is why the series organizers do not base their rules on poles. The truth is, they are not credible because it’s not conducted by an impartial/independent source. That’s all I’m saying on this topic and I certainly hope we can move on now.

    Respectfully,

Damn, I knew this was going to happen. Ok, if this vote wasn’t good how about you setup a vote? I mean really how can a vote not count? We VOTE and said that two classes are what we the mass want and you say the vote doesn’t count because people waited until almost the close of the vote to cast their vote. 47 people voted. If you want to see the details of how people voted I can show that information if you think it was conducted impartial or what ever. I mean really do you think I would cheat? I don’t cheat when I race why would I here???????????????????

Not really respectfully respecting the views of the whole! This is really upsetting!

Ahh, that is a bit of a hike just to get tires. I may need to schedule some time out there to run the track and pick up the tires. Anyone more local by chance have any if not I will for sure make the trip. I need to run on that track anyway. lol

Who has MG Red’s available local? Is it all the tracks currently? Or just some? Looking to get a set for practice. Thanks!

    p. s. Voting has been closed on the polls for the weight classes. Looks like 2 classes won be a few votes. Check out the results here viewtopic.php?p=34986#p34986

    Hello All,

Based on the votes it appears majority wants two weight classes instead of 3. Within the options 325/385 and 340/390 got the most votes in the two weight class options.

So, based on this vote are we going to change the weight classes? If we do change the weight classes should we adjust the weight to allow for a better spread. Like the 330/380 or 340/390 or something else. I am open to suggestions.

Let’s not be like Kansas who voted but the government actually vetoed the vote of the people. lol These types of votes would bring in new government, so shouldn’t we listen to the people and what they want?

Willing to continue this discussion if we are going with the people. If nothing is going to change this is really sad and shows that we are not really listening to the community. We are already dropping those that don’t want to pay for the MG tires let’s not drop any others due to not good racing in their class. I would hate that to happen.

Can’t WAIT for this season. I am really getting excited!

Here is the links to the polls so you know I didn’t edit them or anything. 🙂 I closed them btw.

https://youtu.be/BoqvLbjApy8 Great racing had by a 1 class race. 1 class may be too much for club racing. 2 seems more like what we would want (Keep in mind this is senior (16+) Jr has their classes already based on my understanding). Just thought you all would love to see some great racing though! Those tires are sure STICKY Look at one of the karts going around a turn. lol

Thanks guys! Going to the source and buying it there does sound appealing but I would rather buy local and support them. Even if I pay an extra dollar here and there.

I am not needing it at this moment but will once the kart gets delivered (2 weeks away last I checked).

If anyone else is selling please let me know. I have an engine to break in which means at least 3 oil changes in one day. 😉 And planning on running a lot so will be changing oil a lot 😉

Voted. Didn’t see the option for “one” weight class?? 😀

People were fighting just two. Thought trying to go for one like other big clubs have might have been a little too much. 😉 :bang

Well, scammers and tire kickers looking at my kart thus far, I may just take the kart to Ohio with me…time for some practice laps! With centennial up in the air, looks like the commute to IMI/SBR is damn near the same. Anyone have any plans to head to either track in the near future? This will be my first time on the kart :banana

Once my new kart comes in and is ready to go I plan on hitting the tracks hard. The kart should be here in the next few days and then I will have to build it up and then I should be ready. I am thinking in the next couple weeks.

Wondering with the increased lap times, does gearing change much? Also, is there much difference in set up from then Duros?

I will be going out once my new kart gets delivered and setup. Planning on making out to all the tracks. I will be gathering that information and would love to have others join me! I will ping here once everything is ready. Would love to have a testing buddy 🙂

Set of duros from K1 is less than $100

Support your local race shop brother!

Unser sells them for $110 and will dismount the old, mount the new, recycle the tires, tell you a joke, walk your dog and paint the front porch.

Well, maybe not all that, but the dismounting/mounting and recycling is true. You’d have to ask Greg about the other items.

How’s the voting going? Unsure how productive this thread is, but it is nice to have new content to read everyday on the site!

Voting is almost done! 25 people have voted so far. Would like to see 30 if we can! I will let it go over the weekend and will stop it on Monday.

I bought mine from The Track. I guess they were up-charging. 🙁

I still recommend coming out and racing in at least one of the races. Just to see how it is. You may discover that you love the MG Reds and can adjust the funds to make the extra 300 work. I stopped the progress of my pilots license as I wanted to race more. lol Damn priorities. 😉

$210 for mgs (two sets minimum)=$420
$100 for duros (one set all season)=$100

When you have multiple expensive hobbies the extra $300 on top of entry fees can be a deal breaker.

I don’t know why but I don’t remember getting a full set of Duros for $100. I think it was like 150. I do know that one set of fronts cost me like $50. So yes the math does add up to cheaper. This is going to be an MG series that is sponsored by them. I have seen and heard it said that there could be tire scholarships. Do you think maybe they might be on a discount as you are buying them from the series?

I recommend trying out one race and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out you are only out 110 bucks based on your math. But you still had fun and raced with other people.

I too, have been trying to drum up interest in LO206. I even posted an ad with info on C/L. Got one guy into it by selling him my old kart for a great price. Talk about no interest, we only had 5 total karts at GJMS with me and my son included. I hope this series will help get more into it. Anything that will bring numbers up would be great!

At The Track we had on average 15 people. Split between 3 different classes. Most of the ages were above 16 (except for like 3 or so.). Why have 3 different classes for 15 people? Just doesn’t sound like a lot of close racing. I raced with a lot of lights and mediums but never got to race with the heavys. If we had two or even one weight class the racing would be a lot more close. Granted some would need to add weight. (Muscle weighs more than fat ;)) If you are having problems lifting it I offer my services. lol I mean I need to work out more in order to be mentally alert during a long race.

Cole, why has the MG reds put a stop to that idea? I am still racing in the CJKC that IIRC is running Duros. But why has the MG reds cause you to not want to race? Have you ever raced on them before? They are not that much more than Duros tbh. lol
