All you really need is to just get my Dad fired up about something. In his time he was notorious for stirring it up…

What tire compound are you going to use in Florida? The tire compound will drastically change how the chassis itself is set up. Up here we run the Duro tire which is basically a rental kart tire. They are a little un-balanced front to rear and inherently want to make the kart push, so our seats end up farther forward than on karts running Mojo or Mg. We also use the full 7.10 rear tire so we use 210mm rear wheels, however I know in other areas of the country and Canada a 6.0 rear tire is used so they run the 180mm rear wheel.

Sorry Leo, I had the Leo’s confused. I figured our friend Leo Kosman wouldn’t know how to use one… I heckled the wrong person.

Hey I got some great news for ya Eddie – the number is 1.71 Gs on the Duros. That is what my GPS unit is telling me. Armed with that, you should never spin out again.

Leo, you know how to use a GPS??

The black plastic B&S pump is non re-buildable and I have had failures. When they go out it ends up just spraying oil all over the top of the engine.

I’ve had failures with the Mikuni Rotax pump as well, but it seems to be a tick more reliable. IMO if you were allowed to run the pulse off the intake and not out of the crankcase it would eliminate any fuel pump issues, but that is against the rule set.

It is my understanding that Racing the Rockies will follow B&S rules. Some competitors are using the rectangle Mikuni pump and should be made aware of its legality leading into the first points race.

Well if it does, then I’ll add a wheelie bar and a couple more front tires.

I’ll be there again this year. We have attended for the past 4-5 years and have a great time every year. The series runs on awesome tracks, and is well organized and run by Andy and his crew.

Brett, I can order you the one Sodi makes.

Although you may want to check this out first. You need a spanner/castle wrench to take apart a door handle. I was able to use my Sodi one to take the door handle apart, it fit 100% perfect, so maybe the wrench they make for door handles will take off the Sodi nut!!

I know Birel also uses a castle type nut just like the Sodi, theirs is a much different size than the Sodi one so it will not work.

My Sodi tool has a 27mm ID, 32mm OD. It has 4 pins on it that are 3mm wide.

Eddy, spot on. Keeping it simple will allow it to thrive. Centrifugal clutches only as per the Briggs rules would be good. One thing to remember about 2014 was the class worked really well and got a lot of people into the seat, and when something isn’t broke you shouldn’t fix it!
