As I’ve seen it so far the DD2s and the 4 cycles would make a great mix class in the CSC and put the seniors back on thier own. The 4 cycles have so much more top end then the tags that it made for some difficult racing at Grand Junction. The DD2s can actually keep up on the striahgt but pull just a touch harder out of the corners.

I think I’d be in to race DD2 in the CSC next year.

For an xl you shouldn’t have to do any cutting. If you do make sure you get a good welder to weld it back on and maybe even put in some small support braces. We put a xxxl seat in a kart a couple months back and have had no problems with the kart so far.

    Thanks Angie,
In Tag Senior I think the points are right but the positions for Dale and I are backwards at both races.

I was out there today and they weren’t yet, but the track looks REALLY good. Can’t wait to drive it tomorrow.

Our plastic ones bolt one on each side of the sprocket and actually spin with the axle. This way if you get bumped or have a hard hit where the chain would pop off the chain is held in by two pieces of plastic. It also absorbs impacts and won’t let the sprocket carrier bend so easily.

The aluminum ones are nice, but what if you end up in the air then hit the ground hard, the chain will still pop off.

Ron, the times can’t really be compared because of how different the track was everytime out. JD set the fast lap in the main when it was a downpour while as my race and minimax were fairly dry. We ran 45.3 on slicks in the main but the minis were on rains and 125 shifters were in a complete downpour.

It was fun look to see you out there next time!

Also in prep for the rain, Shockwave makes a rain setup for the 50mm axle. When driving in the rain you need to get the back end as narrow as possible, and with a 50mm axle thats not typically narrow enough. OUr special wheels have a hole large enough for the axle to pass through, and they do use a special set of hubs. You can buy this set through Barry, JB, or Shockwave.

Stacey if you could get rough numbers of people interested in a couple different classes we would love to work something out.

New kid karts and junior 1’s for our karting 101 class. This class was the one we tought at Bandimere over the weekend, it covers flags, accident avoidence, etiquette, and racing basics.

Also see if there is mini-max intrest because we mixed a mini max in with our jr 1’s and had no problems at all.

Then gauage interest for adults in basic or advanced classes for us too. If there is enough we would love to come over and work out of your shiny new building!! :sun:

I say we all just congratulate Tyler on passing a faster kart even when the guy was blocking. I believe this was also his first TaG race. I think we will see good things from him this weekend.

Now all we have to do is change the bodywork to the same colors as the American flag and the frame rails black 😀 😀

Personally, I feel any blocking is crap and the driver should have been black flagged and Tyler let by to go see if he could hang with the dominant Jesse.

    However

I think in our rules we say one move is ok, and I only saw one move. I think by our current rules that blocking was legal although it shouldn’t be. I say we make a move to get rid of the one move rule, and say that any movement off the preferred racing line is considered blocking.

Jim thank you. Thank you so much. I’m glad to see karting in Colorado going in the right direction with more series going to rules that will better prepare and even encourage guys to go and race outside of our state.

After some testing I have found to be just a touch faster with the rears over the fronts. More testing will happen before we make our decision on what to run. I will hopefully be at IMI Saturday to see how they do on that track, then maybe Centennial two weeks later, and will hit Bandimere before the season starts.

Guys in my opinion you don’t have to spend the money whether they are allowed or not. Kyle Ray will be fast whether he runs front brakes or not. Roman will be fast whether he runs front brakes or not. Really anyone who finished good last year will not go backwards front brakes or not.

Karting should be cost effective. It still can be as long as people realize that guys like Kyle can win the championship on any kart with any engine with any brakes as long as they don’t fail.

We have been big supporters of front brakes but after our testing and our customers around the country testing with thier Rotax’s, we have started to lean towards rear brake. Just get a rear brake that will hold up through the race.

For masters, I realize that not many rear brakes will hold up, for you maybe front brakes should be considered as an additional cost.

As far as duel rears, we tried them and the only problem I ran into was too much heat into the rotor. Especially when running the Rotax pipe that comes so close to the second caliper.

We really are not bashing anyones ideas, just letting you know what we have found so far.

Please check out http://www.kartingcoach.com We also have in the works a complete Beginners Guide to Karting, it serves as an intro to kart racing and to racing in the state of Colorado. We also offer classes at the junior level to not only help one person but to offer our services in the group environment bringing all racers closer.

    Thanks,
    Greg

I have to agree with Larry. When he says that this works in Rotax and in Florida he is right, it does. In the Florida Winter Tour the tracks actually require hard braking and yet rear brake still has proven faster, and there are ZERO issues with both being on track.

He is right, why do more testing? Its been done for two years, and has proven safe. We can do testing if you want but if anyone is saying that pro drivers havent already tested it they are wrong. In Florida we raced against Wes Phillips, who has won the RMAX GrandNationals twice- he only qualified 19th by the way. We had multi time Canadian National champions, the Stars ICA champion Joel Miller was there, and simply front brakes prove to mix in easily. Also has anyone ignored the fact that so far with the vote the majority has voted yes to front brakes without adding weight. Where are the other supporters?
