I don’t know of anyone else leaving that early cuz of work and school restrictions. I know that a bunch of us younger TaG drivers are leaving right after school on friday about 3-3:30. I’ve never been to GJMS either but i hear we’re in for a real treat! Lookin forward to it. See ya there.

Mike, couldn’t agree more. Not only do they put decals on for headlights but they got their name from a redneck trying to say “NICE CAR.” I wish that open wheel racing would become more popular in the U.S. like it is across the pond! 😀

Mike, Angie clarified this for me when i had a question about weights at IMI. If you look at the CSC rules page it has been updated and the TaG classes have been split. Now if they changed the rules on the rules page after Bandibumps (i like that name) then i’m pretty sure it’s permanent. So if you’r in Senior, then you can leave those extra 20 lbs at home!

Just what i needed to know! I didn’t know that the CSC rules page had been updated and if it’s true that Brad is going to do the same weights as SKUSA/TAGUSA then i’m a happy racer! But you can never be too safe so i’ll bring along my extra 20 just in case. Thanks Angie! :rotate:

14 year olds are in the junior class, we’re trying to figure out the senior and master class. Look at the CSC rules and you should be able to find out what your weight is. It would be the same as IMI’s.

    And to Dane:

Ya, I am too going to race on the 9th and would like to clarify this before then but so far it looks like we might have to bring it up at the driver’s meeting and see if we can get an answer.

73-74 MPH? Haha it must be your leopard! When the track is run counter-clockwise, I do 81MPH on the back straight, or maybe it’s just my SONIK. :idn: When the track is going clockwise TaG’s only go 74MPH tops.

J.B., about the only idea i can offer to make the track “safer” is that of the pit in when the track is run clockwise like it was for CSC on sunday. I assume that the track was designed more to be run counter clockwise making entering and exiting the track perfectly safe, but when run clockwise, the entry and exit become a problem. Making racers make that sudden left hander into the pit is dangerous and i saw some wrecks because of it, one in particular that crosses my mind was in the kids karts. One kid broad-sided another at a pretty good speed and they both went off the track. I’m not sure of a way to fix the problem but anything should help.

Other than that, i think your facility has improved greatly and did i hear something about paved pits……. :idn:

When i was at the snowed out season opener 😥 , there was a total of 12 TaG karts i believe. On a track as large as IMI i agree that they probably won’t split the classes like CSC. I’m guessing though that they’ll keep the same weights as CSC before the split to give the would-be masters guys a chance, some of them can’t afford to lose 20 lbs.

Spencer, on the season opener on march 28th, the TaG Senior weights were SKUSA weights plus 20.

I pasted these weights below from the CSC rules before they were changed at Bandimere. These all are correct to IMI’s rules unless they do the same class split to Senior and Masters. If the do that i’m not sure what will happen on weights. Hope it helps! 🙄

This class is for TaG drivers 15 years of age and up. Weights for this class are based on the TAGUSA/SKUSA weights + 20 lbs. (the weights are subject to change during the season if TAGUSA/SKUSA makes adjustments to their rules) Rotax – 375lbs; BM Jaguar – 380 lbs.; Leopard – 380lbs.; Easy Kart/IAME – 380 lbs.; Comer – 395 lbs.; Biland – 395lbs.; Sonik – 395lbs.; Italsistem – 395 lbs.; Vortex – 395lbs.
