ParticipantTEXAS LONE STAR GRAND PRIX
MARCH 1 & 2, 2014
I am looking forward to the Lone Star Grand Prix. After signing up today I have been welcomed with great enthusiasm, which has just solidified my decision to participate at this event. I will be joined by my great tuners Victor Pedrosa and Craig Corwin. I believe this is a perfect pathway, for practice and to hone my skills, for the Modesto Grand Prix and beyond.
I encourage all of my buddies, to attend if you have the time, the better the turn out, the more fun we will all have.
I also feel strongly that supporting the good people that are putting this event on is our responsibility as drivers/racers; we want them to be successful so that we can participate in years to come.
It’s great to have the opportunity to go to a new track layout and in a fair weather state; it’s still pretty cold here in Colorado. I’ve been hearing great things about the track and the event.
GO BRONCO’S!!!!!Scott Falcone
ParticipantGunter, that would be awesome to have you and Rodney back racing next year. Heck we need to get that old man Mike J back as well. From what I hear all he keeps doing is getting hurt working out. Maybe if he spent more time in a kart he wouldn’t get hurt so much? WANKER 😆 My crystal ball is calling for another big spike in the Colorado :co economy, so lets hope the same happens in the karting entries. Sounds like TTAC would consider some of those other less expensive classes if the entries are there. Hell, i also hear the king wanker Kistler is moving back to Colorado? All we need now is Roman to come out of retirement, i owe him one. 😆
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!! :burger

ParticipantThank you Gunter!
Thank you for all the support at the track and texts i really appreciated it.
It was one hell of a good time. We had the top 4 karts in our tent all week. Me, Kip, Will and Jamie in Tag Masters. We really didn’t work together at all the entire time, I was willing, but some didn’t seem like they really wanted to discuss much about the kart. Not that we really need there help. But, none the less they all were very cool and we had some good times. Its pretty cool to say I out qualified a Indy car stud, a Daytona 500 champion and a two time Vegas winner, not too bad from a wanker from Colorado. LOL
We had some issues with the chassis in heat 2 and was barely able to hold onto the kart in the rain. In heat 3 my clutch was sticking and releasing at the apex and let me tell that was fun. Never drove a shifter before with a no gears. So with all those issues we were able to salvage a p3 for the main. Than most of you know the rest. I will be posting some video of the three time Vegas champion taking us all out. What an idiot!
Wow!! Its one thing to be wining the biggest race in the world with 9 to go and tires just came in when some idiot runs over the top of you breaks your spark plug and rips out your ignition wire. Right under the nose of the assistant race director and flagger. I’m not happy about that but that’s racing and I completely understand that racing incidents happen. But, what’s completely unacceptable is that this same guy who took out me also took out p1, and p4 at the same time in the same corner. That’s racing as well and I understand stuff happens. But, here is the total bs of it that same guy that took out p1, p3 and p4 in one corner right in front of the officials ended up on the podium!! Are you kidding me?
Again, I’m ok with the racing incident but no freaking way should that driver be able to take a podium away from another driver who didn’t take out other drivers. I got passed by and passed at least 10 times in 10 laps and never touched anyone. No excuse for this. My opinion.James Russell Jr has all the videos in his Face Book page and i will be downloading mine as soon as there done converting. Scott Falcone Karting on Facebook as well..

http://youtu.be/AGdPN6JTVLA what a joke this guy shouldn’t be allowed back to Vegas. How many time do you have to hit a kart in front of you before taken yourself out. !Scott Falcone
ParticipantThank you very much for all the great compliments and kudos.
Not to mention, all the support on and off the track. You guys were all great this last weekend. Lots of Colorado folks were at the scales, stands and fence high fiving me, yelling like crazy and showing nothing but incredible support during the good and bad times of the weekend. It really means a lot to me that all of our hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. So, thank you again!!!!! Colorado should be proud.
I would like to especially send out a supper big thank you to my sponsors and tuners at Kartsport North America, Eric Jones, Victor Pedrosa, Brandon Jones, Ben and Mark Schermerhorn, Arrow X3, K1 Racegear, and Alfano. I couldn’t have this success without you all, thank you very much!
As far as the racing goes this weekend- I will bite my tongue and just say I had blast and if the politics were in the right place we would have easily swept the weekend, but that’s okay. I had the best time that I have ever had in a go kart in the main on Sunday jumping the chicane was as fun as it looked.
On Saturday I was doing it but not as big because I was worried about throwing a chain or breaking the kart. Remember, we are still in a point’s race for the championship. But, after winning on Saturday and having a 1-2-1 already for the series we figured Sunday could be the drop. So I got the direct order to attach the chicane and bring it. On Sunday in the main I took flight- literally! I had to time the jumping through the chicane perfectly or I would have landed on top of the kart in front of me. I nearly did land on the competitors in front of me several times throughout the weekend. None the less it was a blast and we should be leading the championship going into Vegas were the glove are off the real racing begins.
We are now putting our focus towards next week’s Rotax Grand Nationals in Rotax Masters. The competition will be stellar and nothing but very competitive. We will need some great equipment and lots of luck to complete for the national championship.
Thank you again for all of your kind words and support it really does mean a lot to me see you soon. Scott Falcone
ParticipantThat sounds awesome Lee!!! I wish I could be in two places at once. I really want to come done there this year and drive your track. It looks like a lot of fun. I’m sure I will this summer. I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend. Good luck to you all. See you soon.

ParticipantThe drivers have spoken and the track owners are listening. Now it’s time for all us to stop talking and start or continue supporting the local tracks and the local series, that is ran here in Colorado and Utah (Miller Motor Sports).
This next weekend would be a great opportunity to dust off the kart and go to TTAC and race for the first time of the season here in the Front Range. This is a great opportunity to prepare for the upcoming races in Utah and others here in Colorado. I haven’t seen all the race schedules here in Colorado, but there is the first race of the season next weekend at TTAC (Rotax-Shifters). There will be the first Skusa State race at Miller the following weekend.
Sorry, I don’t know the other Colorado track schedules; otherwise I would mention those as well. I’m sure you can inform us with a reply post. After a lot of hard work, communication, and planning Colorado drivers will partially get what they wanted. Two more tracks to race at this summer with Skusa here in Colorado thanks to Jim and Brad. We are on the way to hopefully getting back to a State Series/ Mountain Region Series here in Colorado and Utah. With more available time next year we will be able to add one or two more tracks to the schedule; that’s the plan.
I realize that it’s costly and budgets can be tight, but please try your best to support as many tracks and series that you can this year. I can help by providing practice Mojo tires at the local races for very cheap- or in some cases free if you show me and the track owners that you’re willing to support them.
There are several drivers going over to Utah for the first RMPKC in Utah at Miller Motor Sports. This would be a great opportunity to catch a ride with some of the teams making the short 8hr trek, over the hills to one the best karting facilities in the country. This track is awesome and the facility is at another level and it’s a must see! Please email me if you need some info on teams heading over there and if you need a ride, I will do my best to help you out.
Thank you in advance, to everyone making this upcoming season a great one.

ParticipantThanks for the props! Here’s to a great upcoming 2013 season here in Colorado. We cant do it without the support of all the drivers and families.

ParticipantUpdate:
Well, after lots of work from several folks behind the scenes there will be some information available very soon. Just remember it’s taken us several years to get to this point and I feel we can only grow and get better going forward. It will be very important to be positive and supportive and work together in the future. Keeping an open mind and a positive attitude towards Karting in Colorado will be very helpful and important. It’s imposable to please everyone no matter what happens. So again please keep an open mind and a positive attitude. Karter’s in Colorado, we will need your help from every corner of the state. We will need to continue to grow this amazing sport, but we can’t do it, if we don’t work as group by bringing everyone together and showing up to race. I will do my part with as many sponsors as I can find to help with the financial side of the racing and prizes, but again I can’t do it by myself. If we really care about Karting in Colorado than we need to put the all the BS behind us and come together and set an example of some of the greatest Karting in the country. Thanks in advance for all your support going forward.

ParticipantUpdate:
SKUSA officials are working very hard on trying to make this happen. There are many logistic issues that need to be worked out and are being worked on by them. When they are or if they can get it done they will make a public announcement, ASAP.
Please be patient. 😀
It took three years to get to this point. If it only takes a couple more weeks or so to get something great done, it will be well worth the wait.
I appreciate all of your ideas and concerns, but I really don’t think we need to have a WKA series of any kind around here. You can go to their series and race if you wish, it’s cheap and you get very few laps. I went to my first one in Daytona and to be completely honest with you, it should be my last. I don’t agree with 8 lap heats and 12 lap mains and not to mention a 3 lap qualify (total joke). That’s not racing in my opinion and I will not bring sponsorship, construction help, or financial help to a racing series of that kind. Personally I’m just not interested in that. I’m sorry if that seems harsh, but I’m just being honest. Please don’t be offended. I prefer a structure like SKUSA and Rotax run and that’s all I personally intend to support at this time. They’re really the big boys in the country and you get your moneys worth as far as I’m concerned, from track time to some of the best drivers in the world not just in the USA.
I could appreciate that a lot of drivers like to do this for fun and have a great time doing it with their buddies on weekends (as do I). But, why not run with some of the best drivers in the country and compare your skills against them? Have something to work towards and set goals. Not to mention the amount of race craft, tuning, tire management, proper driving lines, etc that you could learn by either following or just asking for some help. It seems like a great place to invest my time and money if I were a newbie or just a driver who would love to learn and have fun.
SKUSA and Rotax is where karting is going and is already established in this country, in my opinion. So as far as I’m concerned, that’s where my efforts are going to be directed. Nothing personal.
Unfortunately, not everyone will be happy with whatever the class structure may be, that’s impossible to do. But what is possible is getting lots of laps and great racing for your money. NOT TO MENTION THE MOST IMPORTANT IS RACING IN SAFE ENVIRONMENT! There can only be so many classes with so much time in a day.
I truly hope to see the Colorado drivers step up and help make this happen, even if it means running a new motor package.
Here’s to a great 2013 in motor sports, cheers mate… :win

ParticipantSounds great guys!
Thank you everyone for your responses so far to my post, it really helps. We need more, please.
It would be very helpful if everyone from the tracks and shops please try and get a rough head count of interested parties that would support this series and not just their home track races, lol. It would make it a little easier for us going forward. I understand we will never get the numbers perfect, I get that, but if we don’t feel we have the support of the drivers than this will be a huge waste of time and money for everyone. So, the more feed back and support we can generate will only help our momentum as well as our negations and fund raising for this series. I’m the last person who wants to waste anyone’s time. So please, get these posts to all your friends, customers, kids, etc. Let’s see how serious we really are about this.
It appears at this point; I will step up and be the middle man for all of the track, shop owners and promoter as far as working with them to get this venture up and running. After that I just want to be a driver and drive. Unless of course you rather I didn’t. I will do my very best to represent the drivers going forward at this time as well as negotiate what I can. I’m sure I will need help at times and would be more than happy to have it from some other interested drivers, fathers, mothers etc. I have a lot on my plate as well. At some point we will need everyone’s help, just showing up to race.
I truly hope that Tom and Stan will take us seriously and give us all the opportunity to make this happen. They are a huge part of this venture and just like everything else, we need them as well. I’m willing to do my part and step up as a sponsor, driver and help with construction repairs to a point. Lots of details to work out going forward, that’s why we do it as a group venture and get this series rolling.
I have now spoken to all of the track owners and most of the shop owners in Colorado that I know.
Surprisingly enough, when you put all the rumors to the side and actually speak with the track owners and shop owners directly, they all have some great ideas and an amazing amount of passion left in all of them. My gut is telling me they all want this to happen as well. Yes, there is a lot of work to do, but we are heading in a really good direction.I think it’s a no-brainer that an outside professional racing organization such as SKUSA, whom are already planning on doing some racing in the region and would be a perfect fit for us. I have been running SKUSA events around the country now for several years and in my opinion they’re one of the best ran Go-Kart organizations in the country- from the business side to the most important part, making it very safe for all of us! They have it down, it’s what they do for a living, and they do one hell of job at it. We would be very fortunate in my opinion to have them work with us in this venture. Again it would be a perfect fit for us here in Colorado and in Utah, in my opinion.
Thank you in advance, Scott
