    Wow!

Over 200 friends and racers gathered at a killer venue today to help Bob out! And help him out we did! Bob got a $14,000 shot in the arm today thanks to all of you! Not sure what Bob makes a year, but this will make up for a decent portion of what he’s missed while being down! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Words cannot express how good it feels to be a part of this amazing group of people. I would put this group up against any. When we all pull on the same rope, we can’t be stopped!

I’m so glad Bob is still with us! The infection he has sneaks up and takes people from us very quickly! He may be a little weak right now, but I’m telling you that is one scrappy son of a b__ch. Hopefully this will loosen some of the financial stress and let him get on with his recovery.

Relax Bob. Eat and nourish your body, your friends have your back.

I feel funny thanking everyone as it was everyone helping.

But I very humbly thank you anyway,

    Rick

    Doug,

Don’t feel weird about coming to the benefit for Bob. Sooner or later you’ll meet these people and getting introduced in a light atmosphere maybe easier than the thrash that can be going on at the track.

There are a lot of good packages out there. The Rbi / Rotax kart being offered for the benefit could be the buy of the year. Someone is going to walk away with a good unit. It has front brakes and shifter handle making it shifter ready in short order. It also has enough extra brake pads to get you through the season. It was Marc Elliott’s Pro Shifter chassis, the last time it ran was to a victory in Grand Junction.

If you are interested in the auction kart, you’re not alone. I have had several inquiries about this unit.

I’m sure Shockwave could update Charles kart to front brake / shifter capable as well.

Come out and mingle, we don’t bite.

    Well Ken,

If Kurt wins it, I’ll light up his lid!

I’ll tell you what, Tell them it’s “pin the tail” and blind fold all the kids at Kurt’s birthday party! Then sneak down to the Skylark and hang out for a bit!

Thanks again for your generous contribution.

Pulling for Jr. no matter who I get in Bob’s pool!

I’m a 31 year old married (one 2 1/2 year old little girl) DIA train mechanic. I’m addicted to motorsports,

    Hi D,

Admitting you have an addiction is the first step. I’m proud of you man…

But, prepare to step that addiction up a few notches!

I live in Brighton so IMI is really close. Hopefully I’ll make it out to a few races, but probably won’t be entering any right off the bat. I think its best I mill around and talk to people at first, while I get the hang of the kart.

    Welcome,

It’s a really good bunch that race here. Definitely mill about and talk to people before getting a machine and after.

Awesome to have a nice kart track close to home. That makes it sweet because the best thing you can do is get a kart and burn up fuel and tires, cause seat time is what it’s all about. And having a track near just makes it more convenient. Once you get within 2-3 seconds of fast time and can drive a consistent, repeatable race line other drivers can count on, go throw that thing in wheel to wheel competition. That’s where racecraft comes from.

Anyways, this forum came highly recommended so I’m sure you guys have a wealth of knowledge. Any tips you have I’ll take.

The people who contribute to the forum are great to hang out with, you’ll learn a lot. Just get laps. Learning all of the other tips and stuff is just something to keep you occupied between laps.

Are you talking to me? Have the TBD race in Sept. as we agreed on at the meeting and if there is not a good Temp track race it at TheTrack this year or if there is not a good date don’t have it at all and leave it at 6, 2 double races at each track.

Sorry everybody. This got posted on Ekn and forgotten on the Karter, Can’t remember where I did what.

The party starts at 12:30 same as the pre race programming.

It is being hosted at the super retro-cool Skylark Lounge http://www.skylarklounge.com/

The above website has information about the lounge and a map.

For those helping set up, 10:30 is the target time.

This has grown to a capacity that the club owner is giving us both up and down stairs to use. We should have enough room.

If you are interested in helping with food or something to support feeding the group. Please contact Tammy http://[email protected]

Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions if they arise. I’ll do my best to answer or get the information.

    Mike,

Not sure if that was the initial offer or if we countered back with an offer. It could have been the most bad a$$ race around. Seems like it would’ve been worth a the effort to get the karting community involved and see what we can do. How much effort was put into it? Thats part of the problem. I heard rumblings of some pro teams showing. If it were not scheduled too close to a Stars race, who knows. Maybe draw a few teams from Oklahoma, Arizona, California or whatever. Maybe the idea of making this an elevated Regional series with a little glamour was just a little too lofty.

Not sure if all the track owners supported this. Or if my impression at the pre season meeting was totally mis read? No personal attacks, just disapointed in the Csc powers for doing this.

That’s pretty much all I have to say on this.

Back to something positive for the racing community. Lets help Bob!

Invesco thought the lot was paved in gold and asked a price to match.

Just how much is a “gold paved” lot worth anyway?

And, how does it rubber up? :loony:

Thanks for the great offer Tom!

Everyone knows Skusa takes care of it’s own. Not sure Bob has or ever will race the Supernationals. But a hell of a lot of the racers that are supporting him do.

Thanks again for the Generous offer!

    You Rock!

You know, I was getting so fired up!

Can you imagine, a race in the middle of busy highways and byways with excellent viewing oppyrtunities for the spectators that would show up just from curiousity? A beautiful circuit with ample room, nice motels withing walking distance, Elitchs across the street, Lo Do a short hop, running water and flushing toilets. BIG NAME drivers and teams. (God we want to race those guys) I had visions of pocket bike races, r/c car races, Go Ped races (they have little go kart Go Peds too you know, they must have a love of racing too! Maybe some new karting recruits) Motorcycles doing back flips or riding in a steel cage, celebrity race, well lit facility at night…. Oh, wake up Rick.

My potential Csc Sponsors may have been interested in knowing just how much we may have missed on the financial mark for this race?

There are series in other states that are able to procure a high level race (we were trying to elevate the level of our regional, stand alone series, weren’t we?) in the stadium environment. And from the racers I’ve spoken to. Those races are a blast. They did it. We apparently have a racing community that sticks together here in Colorado (see the Lets help Bob thread) Maybe there is a little something under the hood of our racing community.

    Try us.

Must be a little dissapointing to other racers in Colorado too, to see the towel thrown in so quickly on some kind of intersting venue for our TBD race. Especcially with four months till the opener (that was the plan wasn’t it?) and 6 months till the intended “Grand Finale”

    Regards,

    Disappoited customer
