Sorry to hear the big plans for #7 didn’t work out. We appreciate your effort.

Bummed I’ll miss the 1st race now too (stupid work). What was the drop policy? 1 drop, can’t be GJ?

Jim…..What happened with racing at Invesco? Is this a dead issue? I think this is a great opportunity to show case our sport, what do we need to make this happen?

Where did we come up with this date?

Is the Invesco deal dead due to money only? How short are we? Is there any other temp course oppurtunities? Wasn’t the idea to have a championship race at the end of the season? It was supposed to mean something, wasn’t it? Looks like we are having the Tbd race 2 months before our season opener? I’m sorry, but this just doesn’t make sense, does it? A lot of people wanted to be involved in the season and help make it better this year. Were any of those people involved in this decision? Do you want those people involved in this series?

I’m very close on two potential sponsors that will really help this series. Kind of feel back on the fence with regards to helping the Csc at this point.

Did we loose the spirit here? I was stoked in the beginning, needless to say, I’m not overly enthused at this point. At the pre season meeting, it sounded like the Csc was going to be a little more of a community effort! Did we loose that?

Sorry, but I guess there are other options for our racing program.

We have tried to keep the peace in the karting community by scheduling around the CSC so that our members had the opportunity to compete in both series. Apparently, Jim Keesling does not have this same concern for the racers. As a club, we have never had the intention to “compete” with the CSC. Now, because of the CSC’s misdirection, and continual schedule changes (4) it is impossible for our members to run both series. We are all for growing the sport of karting in our state. Our club series will be competing at four tracks throughout the state this year, and we will also be hosting a temporary circuit race in Littleton again. Unfortunately, the CSC has decreased the tracks they are now racing at (3) and will have no temporary race “finale”. Mr. Keesling has chosen to have his “finale” at the beginning of the season instead.
Many people have wondered why we decided to branch off and start our own club. Mr. Keesling is a big part of the equation.

    Jay,

In light of the direction you are wanting to take the kid karts, which is in a complete different direction than both the CSC and the Track/IMI club race program I need to inform you that the program The Track has to offer is not for you.
As of today forward for the remainder of the 2007 race season, no entry from yourself, nor your family will be welcome at the track.

I would also choose a different qual series for the Rotax program, as you are not welcome in the Mile High Challenge Series.

Good luck with the direction you have choosen for yourself.

    The Track at Centennial
2007 CSC Team of the Year, Driver of the Year, Tuner of the Year, Best Track
    2005 SKUSA Nations Cup Champion
“You haven’t won the race, if in winning the race you’ve lost the respect of your competition” – Paul Elvstrom
    Jim Keesling

Even though we have “chosen our own direction” as Mr Keesling states above, and are not welcome at his track, we are welcome at every other track in the state of Colorado (thanks to Brad, Stacey, JB and George). This is just one of many examples of Mr Keesling’s power hungry rantings. Is this the type of leadership you are choosing for your organization? Now it is your turn to “choose your direction”. Don’t be intimidated, please voice your opinions so that the sport that we all love will continue to grow and not become The Track at Centennial Colorado Sprint Championship.

You know, I was getting so fired up!

Can you imagine, a race in the middle of busy highways and byways with excellent viewing oppyrtunities for the spectators that would show up just from curiousity? A beautiful circuit with ample room, nice motels withing walking distance, Elitchs across the street, Lo Do a short hop, running water and flushing toilets. BIG NAME drivers and teams. (God we want to race those guys) I had visions of pocket bike races, r/c car races, Go Ped races (they have little go kart Go Peds too you know, they must have a love of racing too! Maybe some new karting recruits) Motorcycles doing back flips or riding in a steel cage, celebrity race, well lit facility at night…. Oh, wake up Rick.

My potential Csc Sponsors may have been interested in knowing just how much we may have missed on the financial mark for this race?

There are series in other states that are able to procure a high level race (we were trying to elevate the level of our regional, stand alone series, weren’t we?) in the stadium environment. And from the racers I’ve spoken to. Those races are a blast. They did it. We apparently have a racing community that sticks together here in Colorado (see the Lets help Bob thread) Maybe there is a little something under the hood of our racing community.

    Try us.

Must be a little dissapointing to other racers in Colorado too, to see the towel thrown in so quickly on some kind of intersting venue for our TBD race. Especcially with four months till the opener (that was the plan wasn’t it?) and 6 months till the intended “Grand Finale”

    Regards,

Invesco thought the lot was paved in gold and asked a price to match.

Just how much is a “gold paved” lot worth anyway?

And, how does it rubber up? :loony:

    Jay,

I don’t know about you but what you posted in no way represents peace. I am not taking up for Jim but if I were you I would represent the entire truth before attempting to throw someone under the bus. Putting personal correspondence out into public to slander someone is about as cheap as you can get. You are only showing your true colors by doing that and by all means, fly them colors if you want that stigma to follow your series. Have a super season and if you have any questions, please let me know. I am available on e-mail, telephone and in person.

    Mike,

Not sure if that was the initial offer or if we countered back with an offer. It could have been the most bad a$$ race around. Seems like it would’ve been worth a the effort to get the karting community involved and see what we can do. How much effort was put into it? Thats part of the problem. I heard rumblings of some pro teams showing. If it were not scheduled too close to a Stars race, who knows. Maybe draw a few teams from Oklahoma, Arizona, California or whatever. Maybe the idea of making this an elevated Regional series with a little glamour was just a little too lofty.

Not sure if all the track owners supported this. Or if my impression at the pre season meeting was totally mis read? No personal attacks, just disapointed in the Csc powers for doing this.

That’s pretty much all I have to say on this.

Back to something positive for the racing community. Lets help Bob!

Wow, it looks to me that the CSC continues to be a mess. Ricky dude, I think I will just go play with the Harley this year and see what next year brings????????????????

It was $32K they offered $18K for half of the lot. That is not the only expense, I ran races in the old mile high lot more than once. Lost my ass on every one of them and I only paid $1800 for the whole lot. You would have to add things they require and to have to use their employees (union) for police security, fire department, grounds workers for trash, parking, tickets, concessions, you would need to have the area fenced, bleachers, tents, barriers, trash cans, toilets, sound system, parking, etc… The sponsor better have deep pockets!

Are you talking to me? Have the TBD race in Sept. as we agreed on at the meeting and if there is not a good Temp track race it at TheTrack this year or if there is not a good date don’t have it at all and leave it at 6, 2 double races at each track.
