ParticipantGood work.
That’s the end of the pack you want to be in. The further back you get the more messy things get.
Are you guys running the proto type or the production chassis?
Have fun.

May have to dial in a wet set up before it’s over.
Good luck you guys.

ParticipantDid you add more than 50cc to an empty gear case?
If you did it will get ejected out of the crank case vent. If so, you’ll need to clean the pulse line and fuel pump as well.
If you remove the cover, pay attention to gear orientation (or refer to the Rotax engine manual) for reassembly.

ParticipantLighter fluid seems to work best and is non colorfast.
I’ve tried every product in the shop and lighter fluid works best. Wet rags and keep the rubber saturated, it will break down.

ParticipantOk,
I think there may be something with where the opening on the clip may be. Seems the opening should be at the top or bottom. (0 or 180 degree’s) This way, centrifical force cannot close the gap on the clip causing failure.
This from a new Cr 125 competitor who has had the VERY RARE piston ring end gap pin come loose. (new piston) Never encountered any damage on the Icc after several years of running? Just lucky? No parts available till August? (cylinder on back order) Hum?
Still seems a great package. Thanks for the outpouring of help with keeping our junk running! You can tune it. You can just run it.
First engine failure in 6 years. Probably a fluke.
All those years of loaning things out, without keeping track paid off this weekend. We were able to keep running after word got around the pits. Thanks Milnes.
Thanks,
Rick

ParticipantDo they have you in time out on the Csc site?
You racing Tony? Hopefully so.

ParticipantLarry,
Sometimes you have to get a little creative with the clearance issues on the right side of the kart. You can start with a strut that is too long and form it to fit, flatten the end with a vise, hammer, press then drill your hole and cut off the excess. It may break the chrome but shouldn’t hurt anything.
It would be better to try to run 2 per side if possible. Imi has a pretty good selection of seat struts you could probably get one that is close to start with.

ParticipantI emailed them yesterday as well and asked if it would be possible to see the unit. Got the same exact response Doug did.
Rick
So… I went ahead and sent them a check :loony:

ParticipantHaven’t seen too many Rm1’s up north here.
Maybe George @ Cre has had some? Or may know of Rm1’s around here.
Andy Seesman posted a Craigs List “too good to be true” deal as well.
Wonder if the seller would let you look at it and record the vital information?

by Ken Kawakami on Tue 07 8, 2008 11:51 amI’ve always installed them with the gap at 12 o’clock so maybe this had something to do with it.
Ken,
I think that may be part of your problem. Were these installed at 12 o’clock mid night, or noon. I’ve made a few of those “midnight gap errors” myself. 😳

ParticipantThank you so much for posting these Angie.

ParticipantN4S,

Contact this series. They have an excellent program for growing younger racers, are very self contained. Seems they are growing many of Colorado’s future racers and are more than help full and welcoming to new racers.
There is a schedule on their website, go check out a race and I think you will get all your questions answered. The dads and grandpas are very eager to help.
Welcome to a great sport to share with your grandchildren.

ParticipantTony,
Maybe you’ve “over graced” the website and are suffering a time out. 😯
